I got back into wrestling at WM 27 (don't judge me) and 2012 was my first rumble. My friend I was watching with every week was hyping up the Rumble for a good 2-3 months. I remember watching it like.. that's it? Then he tried to psyche me up for the 2013 rumble and convince me it would be better that year... I was not a Cena fan and that was just insult to injury.

I had the same thought of "why do people not talk about the 09 Rumble match?" after watching the match before the Rumble last year (this Rumble also had a similar structure to the 2023 Rumble when it went big man then big man, rival then rival, tag partner then tag partner) and the starpower made me more confused at that fact. It's a really fun match.

I always thought royal rumble 2009 was lowkey the best around this time, the song choice and the match I think was fire. I still don’t think anything beat it afterwards, maybe 2018, 2023/2024 now but 2009 was top tier. Not forget they basically spoiled the Randy orton winner

Yessir! I've always loved this show, strong undercard, banger theme and pretty good rumble too. Definitely an underrated gem.
