Spider-Man Unlimited made a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse

I still hope one day "Spider-Man TAS" and "Silver Surfer TAS" will get to finish their stories. I also wouldn't mind seeing Spider-Man Unlimited save Counter-Earth from the synoptic invasion, and return to Earth with John Jameson. Fingers crossed.

Speaking of Avengers United They Stand, this version of Tigra made a cameo in the Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers movie, which seems more like (mockingly) a spiritual successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit than an adaptation of said series. And don't get me started on Peter Pan as the villain of the movie with the tragic origins of his original VA: Bobby Driscoll.

That movie is the only time where we are going to get some multiverse crossover between the current MCU and the 90s MAU. So I'm technically counting it as a Marvel Multiverse saga movie.

While it is sad a lot of outside problems caused the end of the Marvel Animated Universe, it still gave us so many wonderful stories that would go on to keep these heroes alive and growing. And while I would certainly like to see a continuation of Spider-Man TAS, if we don't, I am personally OK with it, as the conclusion, while a cliffhanger, felt right due to the fact there was hope in it. Hope to find Mary Jane and all would be well. Even as a kid, when there were no more episodes, that sense of hope even without certainty was inspiring to me.

Here's some fun trivia: Christopher Daniel Barnes and Jennifer Hale, the current voices of Disney's Prince Charming and Cinderella, have also play Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson but NOT in the same show. Barnes was Peter in the 90s Spidey show but Jennifer was MJ in Unlimited (and also Black Cat on the 90s show).

8:32 THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS! i love this show so much, it's pretty well written, the animation, artstyle and music are top notch but i understand why a lot of people would hate it, it feels more like fantastic four and less like spider-man, but no matter what I'll still love this show to bits! 13:11 I'm apart of this cult haha, it's such a PHENOMENAL show! i can write paragraphs praising it and it wouldn't be enough, such a shame one of the best marvel shows was canceled after a single season

@@MarkGuerrero-cz9bhIts kinda weird, especially when the Spider-Man cartoon that preceded Unlimited was basically adapting the early comics. Plus Unlimited itself was still set in a cyberpunk universe where Spider-Man wears a futuristic costume, so I don’t know why the show wasn’t cancelled because of the similarities.

Let's be real here, the Marvel and DC cartoons of the 90s and early 2000s was essentially what paved the way for the modern cinematic universes that we have today. It seems that even on the big screen, stories can fail too. It's main the reason why only one of these companies was able to thrive while the other one whippered. I'm not surprised by what has happened as both Marvel and DC has always been back and forth with each other for ions. If in an event the James Gunn DCU actually becomes a success and the MCU collapses after the multiverse saga, who really cares!? Not me. It was a pretty good run in my opinion. That includes the DC extended Snyderverse too. Many people who were children in the 80s and 90s probably first saw the jump from the small screen to the big screen as a major evolution as all their childhood comic book stories, video games and television shows being adapted for the big screen would be seen as biblical. Now look at where we are at now with superhero movies in the 2020s. Not so strong now eh? It's nothing like what it was in the late 90s with the Joel Schumacher Batman movies but to me it seems that people have their own idea of what "superhero fatigue" is. I really don't buy into that personally as I already rewatched the DCEU and currently binging the MCU multiverse saga ay I have formed my own thoughts and opinions on which I will not share. I'm not a comic book reader. I never really saw Marvel and DC as just being exclusive to that medium. Film and television was my integral childhood introduction to these characters and I strongly feel that I have all the freedom in the world to view said stories as such. I have read comics before but just not from these two companies. I can recall a time where you didn't need to read comics in order to enjoy superhero movies and TV shows. But now in a post-internet social media era, gatekeeping has become the new form of social government or ruling among the people themselves. Internet fandoms think they have power and know better over the original creators and it's pathetically sad, disgusting and tiring to look at how society is being twisted by this new invention we call the internet. Inedibly, all the content that we consumed from our childhood end on a whimper because things aren't perfect. Companies aren't perfect, show runners aren't perfect, art isn't perfect. Perfection is subjective. Whatever we thought was great a child, may not seem that way the older we grow and begin to look at things more critically. It's called growing up. Nostalgia is something that is supposed to last temporarily. It can be poison the more you give into it and you begin to act like a man-child wearing adult diapers. That's is what all these angry hater KZbin reviewers are. They probably are not being that genuine, but when you look at the bigger picture, these companies who create these websites are profiting off of people who are causing emotional, social (and physical) harm to themselves and after a while that can get take a toll on anyone. It's sickening that people are (in some cases) forcing themselves to be negative all the time on the internet and are delusional by the media they consume. That's why I don't give into haters or people who disrespectfully disagree with my preferences.

United They Stand is not THAT bad of a show. My only major problem with it is the Wonder Man is absent through most of despite being in the opening credits. Maybe they planned to flesh him out more if they got a second season. And Tigra was actually my favorite character. It makes me excited to see if the MCU will bring her in.

It still saddens me that the closest we got to a new animated universe was what I call the diet MCU. This consisted of Ultimate Spider-Man, Avenger Assemble, Hulk and the agents of smash, Guardians of the galaxy and the 2017 Spider-Man. While each show had 1 or 2 decent moments, all and all it was an unholy mess.

I personally miss Spider-Man: the animated series and Spider-Man unlimited, and I wish that they had proper conclusions. Spider-Man: The animated series in particular had a great final episode, but he still didn't find Mary Jane by the end of that series, which is the only loose end of that series.

For a time in the late 2000s, we almost had another Marvel Animated Universe. The Spectacular Spider-Man, Wolverine and the X-Men, and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes all had the makings of something that could've rivaled the latter stages of the DCAU...but MCU synergy killed all three before they truly could make it. Sidebar, if someone were to continue the 90s MAU in comic book form, I have the perfect way to write off United They Stand. Basically...it'd be the MAU version of the 90s Heroes Reborn story. At some point, a version of 'Onslaught' happened, the Avengers were warped into a pocket universe, changed in the process, etc.
@ShockwaveFPSStudios

Wolverine & the X-Men & Spectacular Spider-Man were never planned to be in the same universe as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Spectacular’s Showrunner Greg Wiseman explained that because Sony made the show, they weren’t allowed to crossover with the other Marvel shows, or even create their own versions of those characters. Even Josh Keaton have kept saying on Twitch that the Spectacular Spider-Man was never supposed to have continuity with any other Marvel show. Wolverine & the X-Men was a show that aired on Nickelodeon, and the show’s art-style as well as the designs of the characters made it clear that it wasn’t connected to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The only shared connected universe EMH had was with the straight to video Hulk Vs Movie. But even than, that’s just speculation.

13:15 - 13:55 Hey, Erod, I was just was curious, 'cause I know you said when you covered the unmade Captain America series, that the voice of Solid Snake was going to be the voice of Steve Rogers like in his cameos in Spider-Man, but as a fan choice, what would you think of Kevin Sorbo voicing Rogers instead? 1999 was the end of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and the year after, Sorbo was in the Gene Roddenberry show, Andromeda, where his character, Dillon Hunt, Captain of the Commonwealth Starship, Andromeda, had a very similar story to Steve Rogers. A soldier of war who is trapped and frozen in time, only to be awoken in a world he no longer recognizes and must resume his duty to protect the people of the future. He could've totally fit the role of Captain America if, of course, Fox had continued to produce the Marvel Animated Series.

I don’t really like Spider-Man Unlimited as it pretty much felt like a cash grab. Back in 2022, I wanted to make a video series where I covered every episode of that show, and explained why the show wasn’t my style (Much like Phelous’ Next Mutation). But as a teenager who’s having trouble at high school, I sorta lost motivation to make a video on it (Plus I was still new to making videos on computers since I was more of a phone guy when I started making videos.). Now, im not planning to work on Spider-Man Unlimited because Im lazy, and I also have trouble at College, and I also want to finish my videos that I’ve planning for months.

Avengers United They Stand was god-awful. Both this and the JLA TV movie from 1997 don't have the nucleus of the teams in their roster. Even as a kid I knew this show sucked. I wasn't even surprised when they canceled it either. I'm just glad we got the MCU, and the criminally underrated Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes to fix this forgotten mess.
