that fish tank is legit though. I know a lot of people talked about bringing their fish and other animals with them when evacuating. Interesting to see the fish tank with fish when the whole house is basically a fishtank now.

Jules Askalotl Those fish survive only in certain ph level so flood water is not safe water for them to survive
@JulesAskalotl7 жыл бұрын
I'm not so much worried about the ph level as much as the fact the water theyre standing in is polluted.

I went through Katrina and rode the storm out in my parents house which was high enough to barely get water, but my house 4 blocks away looked exactly like this. I spent 6 months renovating that house, moved in Wednesday, had new furniture delivered Thursday, and then Friday was when they announced storm was turning towards us and a day later 3ft of water in my house and everything I owned was basically lost, every piece of furniture, all your clothes, your picture, the little things tucked away in drawers you never think about until they are ALL ruined and gone, so much sadness, my heart goes out to the people in Texas, it's a deja vu of Katrina

Affected people should be helped by moneybags from oil companies that devastate the bowels of Texas and fill their pockets with money. They break the ecology by extracting shale gas! This is their fault in climate change! Let's ask them! Will they be able to help people?

This is so sad. You had a lovely home. At this point in time continue to move everything you can up higher and wait for the water to leave. Then rescue what is left. Damn it. It's not fair and I cannot think I would handle it at all as calmly as you appear seem to be. Be safe, be well and watch your six as new people move into town.

It's nice to see whites, blacks, mexicans and asians helping one another after this kind of catastrophe, especially when the current President is openly supporting racism: "The neo-nazis/white nationalists/KKK are very fine people." This is proof that you will not divide us Mr. Trump.

If you get to go back to your home like this guy, pull ALL of your drawers out, if you wait until the water clears out, your drawers will be swollen shut.
@numissmatic79117 жыл бұрын
Also take all photographs out of the house even if they're not in water and bring them back to where you are staying, and lay your favorites out in the freezer (some ppl put them in freezer bags first, which might be a good idea), turn them over @ 30 min' s later, and then let them air dry and then rotate the process again. If you don't dry your photos out one way or another, then about a few days to a week later, the ink will start to run and your priceless photos will turn to sludge! There are other ways to salvage photos as well, just as long as you do something! Take it from someone w/experience!

I say it is a known flood location? In the U.K. they are marked as flood zones and you have a slot barrier that slides down into the frame of the door to stop the water from pouring into your property and I believe it is compulsory if you are insured but if you live in a semi detached property you have to rely on your neighbour doing the same thing because it is not compulsory. The oblong shape door slot when slid into the frame creates a seal and stops the water from coming into your property. U.K. flooding is more dramatic because we have an incompetent management. P.S. I do not give a damn for his possessions I am more worried about his plants, can he not lift them out of the fucking water.
@MrWaffle047 жыл бұрын
The plants? They cant survive anyways! Look around dumbass! The waters everywhere. You're ignorant, but being from the UK that's a given!

I wish everyone the best and be safe, this is only going to get worse, more often and higher water levels. If your President and government do not believe in climate change [not global warming, as it is climate and weather change] then it will happen. Do something now so your children, grandchildren and further generations do not have to suffer. This has happen before, but not as bad and this is not as bad as it will get. Maybe Trump's wall will keep it out...........

to be clear this was the result of a hurricane not rising tides. Believe it or not hurricanes are a pretty common thing in the Gulf of Mexico and things like flooding, property damage, injuries, and loss of life is pretty par for the course for a category 4 hitting a large population center.
@carlosleal9037 жыл бұрын
The hurricane stalled over Texas because there was no windshear to move or weaken Harvey not because of climate change. And in case you don't know hurricanes are pretty common along the entire gulf coast and carribean islands
