My first game console. Remember we had Zaxon, Defender, Smurfs, and some game where you explored a pyramid.

For the power connector, you can just put in a punch in it (from behind) and give it a whack and it'll tighten those rivets.

I'll have to give that a shot.

I oppose randomly re-capping old electronics unless it is a known to fail cap or if you see leaking or bulged caps. It's far too easy to make a mistake. A couple of years ago, some youtuber, I want to say his name is Jan, randomly recapped a C128. He has lots of professional experience with electronics repair. He put in a cap backwards and blew the custom chips in the 128 (IIRC, it was D, which is a much rarer 128). It happens. I'm not saying he's a dummy or something. I've done it myself with electronics I've repaired. Most of the people who want to recap their old console or computer are complete novices with little to no experience and they put their soldering iron on a PCB that works perfectly. This is a recipe for mistakes and lifted pads etc.

Man idk how I didn't see this till now, but... Yeah.. I have to re-cap them all. It's future proofing man. You just have to be diligent in what your doing. In the 90's I was doing re-work at HP on lot's of theirs products that came back. I also did die bonding and PCB printing back then. So I kind of know my $hit. Could I mess up something, f yeah, but we're all human. Shit happens man. Then it just gives me more to fix, which cures my ADHD mind. 🤣🤣

This is ridiculous! Put a pair of socks on, shuffle them really fast over carpet, and then touch your Colecovision main board with your pinky. Everything will be just fine and hey, you might just conduct enough shock to wirelessly start your console. "Look Ma, no cords!!!" What could be cooler than that?! Plus your establishing dominance over your console. He's old and cantankerous and needs a good shocking to keep him in line.

Background music is actually too loud & annoying. Try light jazz & a lower volume.
