With its length of 361 meters, width of 66 meters and height of 72 meters, the Symphony of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships in the world. The 228,081 ton giant has space for more than 6,680 passengers who can enjoy themselves on the longest slide at sea or in one of two surf pools, among other things. The report accompanies the luxury liner on its maiden voyage.

Been on a few Oasis class ships. Never felt overwhelmed except by how much there is to do. Never got to eat at all the restaurants. Saw shows, drank all i want, relaxed in bed...did what i want. Love cruises because you can do this in a controlled space with other people who just want to get away.

We sailed on this vessel in March on a transatlantic cruise from Miami to Barcelona. Not sure where people think it is $5000 a day. We paid $499 per person for a balcony suite overlooking Central Park. We sailed for 12 days. Hoping to do another transatlantic cruise from Barcelona back to Miami in November.

Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship is set to embark next week! How exciting! 🍿 🚢 📈 Royal Caribbean Cruises (NYSE:RCL) recently had their analyst status upgraded to “Buy”. 18 Wall Street analysts have an average rating of “Moderate Buy” with a high estimate of $160 representing a +30% increase from the last price of $122.49.

Lifeboats: 18 X 370 passengers each = 6660. That takes care of the ships passengers, what about the 2000 ships crew??? Hope they can tread water.

@GameMastersKip

@@liamcollinson5695 Good question, but I don't think it would be! My wife and I went on a 4 night cruise with a night at a hotel at the port (don't land the same day a ship sails ya know?) And for that WITH airfare AND the unlimited drink package? Drumroll. Under 5k! Now this wasn't exactly the highest class suite but it wasn't lowest either - not that there's anything wrong with interior cabins but we got one with a window overlooking central park. Most food is free once you're on board, shows are free once you're on board, access to the Solarium... Even got to pop ashore to haggle for tequila in Cozumel! I've never had this much bang for my buck before. This time we're paying a little more for a balcony and the itinerary will be stopping at their private island Coco Cay! ... Do I seem over excited? Sorry, it's winter in Minnesota and I might miss the sun.

It amazes me just how uneducated some of these comments are.
@Blitnock
@Blitnock 8 ай бұрын
Sooo true. Lots of real "winners" here. Seems like every other person in the comments accept the $6000.00/night cost uncritically, and don't even read the comments from a number of people who have actually been on-board and report that a medium quality package, including free alcohol, costs $500.00/night, and packages apparently can go as low as $300.00/night (I haven't googled to verify, but sounds about right). Then there are the right-wing media brain-damaged morons who produce semi-literate droppings like, "Turn it over for the homeless and mental crisis so we can have our citys bk". Butthead is even present with, "It's a floating toilet". You can almost hear the "Huh, huh, huh."

Why build the ship in Europe when ships can be built in the USA. Made in America.
@richardstrick
@richardstrick 8 ай бұрын
No US shipyards are able to build vessel this large. SOS is actually longer than Ford class aircraft carriers. This vessel displaces 250,000 tons a carrier is about 100,000 tons.

They are nuts! Who do the think they are? Disney? There is absolutely nothing I’d pay $5,000 a day for,NOTHING. FOR $5000 I could spend two weeks in France with a rental car and have a better time!
@GameMastersKip
@GameMastersKip 9 ай бұрын
Gotta be honest the 5,000 a day thing is insane. My wife and I went on a 4 night cruise on one of these and the entire vacation including airfare and a hotel stay before the first day of the cruise came to about 5 thousand. Disney prices can go straight to hell though lol - makes me even happier to gjve business to their competition thats stepped up their game more and more.
@science-channel
@science-channel 8 ай бұрын
I know, right? PS: $5,000 a day is for the first class, for lower classes the prices are lower (around $600-1,000 I believe)
@cherylw445
@cherylw445 8 ай бұрын
It does NOT cost 5000 a day to cruise. At most, and depending on your cabin it's 300 or less per day and that includes all food, simple drink like juice, tea, coffee etc, entertainment. There is no where a person can go for that cheap. Iv done a 7 day Alaskan cruise for 500. That's 500 period, NOT 500 per day. That's the total it cost me fir 7 nights on board.
@cherylw445
