Took a sea trail on this boat with 20 knot conditions and was blown away by the integrity of the hull and fit and finish and the boat rides like a 32 ft monohull...worth a sea trial to believe and yes I would buy.

That boat is absolutely sick. Meaning awesome. I have grown up offshore, but damn. After spending a lot of time on the 28th to 32-ft range, I went back to a 24 to 26 foot range. They will handle pretty much anything the others will, but they are much more easily trailered. Now this one being just shy of 10 ft beam width, I don't know if that's allowed on the highway or not. Now if I'm going to spend 200 grand, I don't know I would have to shop around. Everything has got much more expensive. We bought a 2006 robalo in 2007 brand new. A single 250 Yamaha on the back of a 24-foot walk around and the base price was $88,000 bucks before we took the boat show special and all of that to wind up around 70. All of the prolines and Sea Hunt and whatnot we're going for considerably less.

I love this size range . if a storm is come to your marina you can gab it and haul it out or if want to change launch location. it will not take a act of congress to move it. Plus it looks very fishable. I like it. I need to see more

Definitely want a sub 30 foot catamaran in the future. Hopefully by that time there will be more competition so the prices are more affordable. Would love to see something in this class under $50k eventually, and there are options under $100k already.

Great video! That’s a badass Cat. I’ve owned 3 Worldcats. This boat is way way cooler and 26ft with 9’10” beam it is stable as you can get on drift. I know it’s a hybrid but if the gunnels were a foot high and a taller enclosed transom for offshore. I would definitely want it. Hope they make a more offshore 26’. There’s no 28ft and under offshore cats like this. Except for a 25ft. Prowler. Everything is 34ft or bigger $400k and up. They’ve already priced themselves to top tier. This is Freeman prices at $300k for 26ft. Hybrid. Still a badass boat. Make a under $200k loaded out offshore model with trailer and I would buy it.

Do the aft gunnels come above your knees? That's the only issue I see. From the looks of the video the gunnels are too low to feel safe offshore. But I may be wrong. I haven't been on one. I love the looks and layout.

I had the good fortune to spend some time looking hard at this boat during FLIBS and spent some time with the builder. For those seeking to compare to a retail level boat (WC etc) there is no comparison: this is in a different league. The only thing that concerns me with all these super fast boats (especially Cats) is the builders’ use of a liquid or electronic tie bar. Having spent considerable time with Bobby Latham of Latham steering, I would be wary of having either liquid or electronic alignment on the steering system of a boat doing 60 plus. Note this applies to Freeman, Invincible, Seahunter, Renaissance et all that are pushing up the speed limits.

$170k seems to be on par with the Calcutta 263 which is the gold standard in this size. For the price I would go with the Calcutta over the Cayo at this time. Tough to beat the value of the Twin Vee 26, which can be had for about a $100k.

I’m a freshwater guy looking for something that size. Set it up for entertainment and fishing and I would have some interest. Right now the only thing with that ride quality and speed are these twin engine pontoon boats listing for 180k plus. Much rather have the catamaran with some good seating for family especially for windy rough days. I’m probably the only one in the market for something like that so unless I’m wrong, I’m probably dreaming that one will be coming my way.

I just ran across this video. I'm considering a Cat and the 23 to 26 foot range is about where I'm at. Not sure if Cayo is still building boats considering COVID took out a bunch of businesses. The one that I'm considering is a World Cat 235 CC. It's looking like about $165k for a 2023 with twin 150 Yamahas I believe. Costs after the plandemic have just gotten out of hand. Used probably around $20 to $30k less for a 2021 - 2022

Most boaters don't have a clue when it comes to catamarans. A true catamaran rides through the water it doesn't have what you would call a planing Hull & Ride on top. One of the best ones was the old Glacier Bay, only my opinion and God knows everybody's entitled to to my opinion. LOL Merry Christmas to all and to all a good-night

I'm wondering how long it'll take for the competition to actually drive prices down. Also, if i was going to buy a big cat, I wouldn't want a pure fishing sled. What's the point of 10+ feet of beam if it's just open and blank deck space... Maybe I'm not getting it, but these high-end big cats could use some more features beyond live wells and coolers

No chance in anyway I’d be dropping 170k for a 26’ base build. Way more used options to buy cheap then pay for it to be rebuilt for less than 100k

i'd consider it, i like the 1/2 tower a lot. but it would depend on details of quality. imagine if this ends up competing with freeman the way seavee did with contender, seavee are now more expensive. getting a similar boat that's cheaper due to being new is a great place to be. but i imagine i would chicken out and just get seavee or contender, i don't have the free capital to be making risks like that.

I love that boat but I'm more likely to buy and old mako as a project. I can't see what advantages a mono has over a cat. A 26' mono that draws 14" would be a bumpy ride.What do you's reckon.

I own 2 cat boats one 22 ft and a 28 ft and the advantages of a cat are very substantial and there is no competition in the two as far as stability and ride and room.

An eastward 24 (27 feet overall) will eat this bayboat for breakfast in REAL rough weather. This cat can skip ontop in moderate chop but would fly out of the water in real rough water, then slam when you slowed down. The eastward would keep its running surface in the water and not slam . This is a cool boat for running in calm and moderate weather but no where near an offshore boat.

Decimator rc I’ve been in a alumacat in rough conditions and it was very stable. I’m used to aluminum boats here in northern Canada. Nowhere near the fit and finish of the glacier bay cat I’ve been on in Florida, but stable and rugged. Freeman’s are just a dream for me financially. Thanks. Tight lines. If only they could make a boat under 24foot and ship worldwide....I had a 16 foot sodwana cat from South Africa and recently bought a 5 meter Markham Whaler forward console. Great cat and I only need two 60hp's to do 35 knots. Perfect for my small family.

Maybe $115k out the door with trailer and 2 300XS V8. Limit the uber fancy gel artwork, equip for multi passenger comfort as a mid-large lake day cruise machine. With all the massive wake surf boats throwing out ocean sized wake, this is just the ticket for Uber fast counter to wake caused by the silly wake surf boats. This will take the multi-directional lake wake caused by busy traffic. Plus, this could still play the open sea coastal world. Without going hog wild on electronics, I think this price point could be met.

So I have been on one of these and they are super nice and all but it can’t get on a plane on one engine even with 300’s, So if you loose an engine offshore you are going to be going about 8 knots the entire way back. I also don’t understand why a 26 foot boat has twin 300’s and can go 60 miles an hour. I mean when are you ever going to be able to run 60 miles an hour? I would rather buy something like a Calcutta 263 but whatever you are into I guess

OK, One reason I would go with a 26' Boat would be the Benefit of being able to trailer the boat. With a 9''10" beam your a foot and 4" over width to be legal width on the Highway in any State . Even with a Fl. annual over width permit. When you go passed Homestead its no good. Thats just one concern I'd have with this boat.
