Absolutely correct. Now replaced by LED signs. We do still have the old semaphore mainline signs in North Norfolk but at Norwich depot (and probably all others around the country) the shut signs are led.

It's got a blue lens because it would have had an oil lamp. Oil lamps burn with a yellow flame which through the blue lens would look green! All old railway signals are the same.

I grew up in Narborough during late 60s/early 80s and went to the old Narborough school. The picture you showed of Crisps Garage was the Drs surgery during the 70s . Still visit Narborough to see relatives and will hopefully go to the museum on next visit. I remember Greta Towler as the postmistress who had a very cheeky minah bird. Love your Swaffham auction videos and used to visit most Saturdays when Tyrone Roberts was the auctioneer. Thank you for the nostalgia and the wonderful Norfolk accent!

A thank you for the museum tour, it was very nice. Talk them in to allowing you to put the engine back to running order for them and KZbin . Also you should donate a couple of the spark plugs from the open box, for their case.

the blue glass in the railway handlamp and the dolly signal, shows green when the yellow flame from the oil lamp is lit.

There was a bit of a scandal back in the late 60's or early 70's where bone being imported for animal feed and fertiliser were coming from Idia where they were getting fished out of the Ganges river, human bones.
