Thank, Chris I like your series on the music papers and I am finding out about acts I didn't know about. In 1971 men were still landing on the Moon, we haven't been back since December 1972, this brings it home how long ago it was.

Hi Chris, for some reason I'm not getting notifications. Another great watch, love all these old music papers. Don't forget it was 5np. I still remember the converter card from £ s p to decimal money, I had to try an explain it to my Nana.😂 It's really great to see a lot of these bands/singers are still relevant today. I wonder how of today's so called artists will be listened to in 50 years.

Real trips down memory lane, These papers were essential to me at that time, never that keen on Melody Maker though. Inspired me to dig out a stack of early Face magazines which were destined for the recycle bin, thinking twice about doing that now.

I believe the ad cut out was picture of a mini skirted Linda Ronsted. What was the pinup centrefold group Never heard of Audience have you no shame. Preferred Sounds to all the other mags went bust early eighties. Whats your e mail address or do you want me to do my top 50 singles of 67 then 68 etc. PS bank foreclosed on normal stuff so only have the more obscure.

I used to buy Sounds every week, not really bothered with the NME or melody maker, except when they did the Monsters Of Rock reviews, which i still have. I cut my sounds to pieces to save the gig interviews, reviews, adverts etc when i couldn't get anymore under my bed. From xmas '77 until Jan/feb '83, I also used to buy a 'monthly' magazine called ZigZag. Don't know why i stopped, maybe it went out of business, can't remember now.
