Great video Chris, was hoping you'd do one on TD. My nostalgia pick as well as my favorite is Phaedra. I was traveling around Britain in 1976 and bought it in London and played it at the b&b I was staying at. Love it. Rubycon too. Stratosfear and Ricochet are in my top five as well as Tangram. They really were electronic pioneers, their influence is all over techno/trance and ambient

Excellent choices Chris, was listening to stratosphere on the headphones last night. I have a lot of my sisters concert tickets (she's 72), and one of them is for TD at the Glasgow Apollo in March 78, possibly the cyclone tour ? £2.50 a ticket ! Changed days, that would get you a packet of crisps at a gig nowadays.

Hello again Chris, great that you like Tangerine Dream. I have been a fan and passionate collector since 1977. I very much agree with your ranking. All wonderful albums with fantastic tracks. Absolutely magical. Tangram and Pergamon are also very good. In the 80s TD also released very good albums (Exit, White Eagle, Poland, Underwater Sunlight) including some very good soundtracks. After 1986 things changed. The following decades - with a few exceptions - got worse and worse to the point of embarrassment. Since Edgar Froese's death in 2015, his successors have been on the right track again. Back to the roots, so to speak, but without simply copying the past. It's fun to listen to a Tangerine Dream album again. Greetings, Andreas from North Rhine-Westphalia.

Couldn’t agree more about ‘The Song Remains The Same’ album and film. Underwhelmed from the day I bought both. Currently listening to all my The Living End albums - a three piece from Melbourne, Australia who started as a raw rockabilly trio, got famous as a Green Day support act, & have become rock royalty in Aus. But don’t let that put you off - there’s so much energy and talent. Check out their 90s & 2000s output : State of Emergency, Modern Artillery, The Living End, Roll On, White Noise - their music just makes me smile every time. Cheers!

Hi Chris, Have you heard of Free Live? It's a single LP with some strange versions of songs, such as Alight Now. The bass playing on the LP is unbelievable.
@TheVinylOrchardКүн бұрын
I have that album. Andy Fraser was a great bass player especially mr big. Kossoff was a superb guitarist too. I think Free started well and just got duller. Having said that wishing well is one of my favourite songs by them. But the band was a different one by them. Pretty sure Kossoff doesn’t play on that song. Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris. Katy Lied was the fourth Dan album, it was one that they were really dissatisfied with for some reason. I purged my copy of Women and Children First a few years ago, God knows why I did that. Just picked up another Jam album a couple of weeks ago, so now am just lacking The Gift - don't know if I've ever seen a copy. Still looking for Stop Making Sense too, was really annoyed a while back to see another collector picking up a copy from an antiques place in Wales that I go to from time to time. Cheers.
