A lot of abandoned history in eastern Iran

Have you ever heard of pigeon towers? Or huge castle citadels that are completely deserted? I certainly don't, but there's plenty of that in eastern Iran. Our absolute highlight was the underground secret passages of a huge abandoned castle, quite scary but unforgettable.

In this region there was one of the most beautiful cities called Ferdows/Toon. Most of it was destroyed in an earthquake in the 1970s. Other interesting towns include Boshrouyeh and Gonabad.
