@@ToniJoi Fact: A negative fund balance is a normal balance meaning a fund is in the black. A positive fund balance is bad, and means the fund is in a deficit. This is basic governmental or Fund Accounting. I think Tiff Tiff pulled a fast one. That "CPA' specifically said the fund balances were negative prior to Tiff and positive post Tiff, even to the tune of 6 Mill. Tiffany was the one who said she put the town in a positive position. But if she is using the Fund Balance that is positive to determine that. SHE HAS NO CLUE WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT!!! A normal fund balance carries a (CREDIT) or as Tiff called it, negative balance, just as revenue. Charges/payments carry a (DEBIT) or positive balance. Is it possible Tiff doesn't understand how to read a Statement of Fund Balance or Balance Sheet????? Now it makes sense why she kept screaming she put the town in a positive position. BUT we know that did not even sound right. I THINK WE GOT HER! She should use the term, Debit balance or Credit balance not negative and positive. And any CPA would know that.

This is how math works- You have a negative amount, you add a number HIGHER than the negative, which then becomes a positive. The thing I’ve been waiting for someone to say is- “ was that amount added to the deficit a loan or a grant?” Someone needs to ask that in the next meeting. Because it’s a HUGE difference. Loan, you gotta pay back WITH interest, a grant- you do not. So what is it? That money didn’t just magically come. You should not have your taxes raised due to a grant.

As a trustee, she went against the mayor for not being transparent and now look at her. It was covid and no one was coming out to vote. She won by 142 votes. The trustees got way more votes than her.
