From an Aussie. Great video. Im one of the lucky ones that supports both a Scottish and an English team. (yes in Scotland that is often the case - people follow along to both) I find myself way more invested in my SPL team than the EPL one and I have been following both since the late 90's. Sure its not one of the Top 5 Leagues, we know that, but heck its way more relatable to than the $$$ leagues. Long way that continue.

Rangers vs Celtic in the 2015/16 Scottish cup semi final is a good one to watch if you haven’t already, Barrie McKay’s goal is an absolute screamer. That goal caused one of the best celebrations I’ve ever seen at our supporters club

I remember going into that game expecting an absolute humping like previous games due to rangers still being in the championship and Celtic having I think 8 titles in a row at that point, then McKay pulls out that goal and we go onto win on penalties

I'm a motherwell fan and was still young for the 6-6 games and when we were 6-2 down i was begging the people i was with to leave because i didn't want to see anymore, they convinced me to stay and I'm so thankful they did it is one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life and I'm happy to see it covered here but you missed out the most dramatic part we missed a 90th min penalty before we equalised great video though mate keep up the good work

i always have to mention this when that 6-6 game is brought up. my mum is a lifelong motherwell fan and she randomly was able to go to that game (we live a bit more north and she doesnt go to most games these days). she came home from that game and had lost her voice for a week, most mental scoreline ive ever seen

You should watch Scotlands game on KZbin its a 2 part thing. Shows everything that you love about scottish football but also that dark financial side of clubs living beyond there means and getting into trouble. Celtic hearts stories are good as the fans saved there clubs as for rangers they were liquidated and had to start again. It also shows you the difficulty with the TV deals scottish football has had

Thanks for the positive coverage of Scottish football. Taken as a whole it is, as you say, a unique and entertaining experience. But we need structural changes to (i) improve youth coaching and (ii) make the rest of the SPL more able to compete with Glasgow's big two.

Key ones for next time… everyone remembers where they were when Leigh Griffiths scored vs England Saints Double - especially Shaun Rooney scoring in the 32nd minute in both finals Amount of times the Old Firm have gone 9 in a row but never 10 (Rangers 2021) Rangers Europa league final run The phrase “Hibsed it” Scotland at Wembley 1977 The og “Aguero moment”. Hamilton vs St Johnstone and Ross County vs Gretna. Winner of the First Division switched something like 3 times that day That time Asda (British Walmart) bought a football stadium. Finally St Johnstone reaching their first Scottish Cup Final in history in 2014 and winning it vs their Tayside rivals Dundee United (Very St Johnstone focused as… well I was there for most of them 😅)

thanks for the interest in the SPL, the ridiculous amounts of money in the other leagues is killing the game and are making them sterile both with fans(more tourist fans now than normal fans) and the teams. Their passion is lost, can assure you, you wont find half and half scarfs at ANY scottish game, at any level! Yes our league is crazy, yes we cant pay 30/40 mill for players but it also isnt crap. so many players have came up from england thinking , pffftt this is going to be a holiday here, nope wrong, and then totally failed and cant handle the pace and physicality of the league. slight correction for your gary mackay stevens story, so he used to play for dundee utd, then celtic before aberdeen (think he might have been in England between celtic and aberdeen) and he decided would be a good idea to go out drinking in glasgow after a game🤔😅. He was subsequently chased by a gang of lads due to playing for Celtic previously and he jumped over the bridge to get away from them or else he was about to get done in. And by the way, the pic you have of the bridge is the right one, cant tell you how lucky he was to actually not seriously injure himself, the river is a small tributary river which is between 2-5ft at that bit depending on the weather! Another one to capture footage of for your next video was, im sure either a season or 2 ago, someone threw a pie at lawrence shankland after he scored a goal during his celebration and he caught it right in the air and then started eating it🤣

Some great moments throughout the years for sure but now it is dismal, clubs broke, standard is abominable, pettiness runs through every single club and there is no care for the actual state of the game now or the future. @@kelusport There's narratives going on in every league, that's what makes football so endlessly entertaining, but the SPL is so lopsided as to be basically pointless. The last time a club outside of the Old Firm won the league was when Alex Ferguson performed miracles with Aberdeen, and before that it was 15 years more. That means that since 1965 (54 years!!!) only 4 times has the title been won by a club other than Rangers and Celtic. That is fucking appalling. The football is dross, the grounds are falling apart, everybody seems very apathetic and Scottish teams have become so shite they are now regular whipping boys when they do manage to qualify for the group stages of European competitions. Far from being the best league in the world it is actually probably the worst. The only reason one might say it's the best is because they're being ironic, and I think that's cruel, especially coming from a yank. Scotland doesn't need your condescension or feigned excitement. It needs investment. Badly.

I get there's plenty of issues with the league, and I would love to see them sorted, as would anyone else. Even if the league isn't doing too well right now, I think there's plenty of iconic/entertaining moments to reflect on, and thought it would be good to shed some light on that.
