No worries - thanks for making the game! It's great to see you taking the feedback into consideration as well.

Do you plan releasing on Linux? It looks like a great game (reminds me of Nethack), I think it'd be very attractive to Linux users
@Untrustedlife

@@twb0109 At some point, perhaps. The library I use to draw stuff on screen does not support linux. SO it would be quite a-lot of work.

@@Untrustedlife Wish I could help. I think Ncurses or the library that Dwarf Fortress uses may be useful.

I certainly didn't expect a Neil Breen reference in a video like this. Well done!

The developer of this made a new game. It has all the procedural/lovecrafty weirdness but it is a strategy game like civ. You should check it out.

>I just click things and I die, and I have fun anyway Yep! Pretty much my fatalistic approach to the genre and its offspring. Eventually, I win by the law of large numbers, paving my way there with my mangled corpses.

I get the opportunity to work with game creators quite a bit, I have never worked with Untrusted, but I know the man. He is way more passionate and knowledgeable about his game than I would say a lot of supposed "professionals" in the gaming world. Glad to see such a glowing review of someones work who definitely deserves it. I very much hope to see more good things in the future!

It's a nice blend of dark fantasy and cosmic horror. RLDR is a dream-project, could have been co-written by Howard (Conan) and Lovecraft (Cthulhu) in future, using their blood, as the ink. The mythos, untrustredlife has created is a welcoming edition on any bookshelf.

Infra Arcana is another very Lovecraftian roguelike. The atmosphere is superb. Difficulty level is pretty high but you can find some tips in the official discord chat log (there is no formal guide or wiki unfortunately).

Uuuuuuugh, those Tolkien races put some stink on an otherwise interesting looking game once again. By the way, if you're interested in roguelikes I would highly suggest Caves of Qud, probably the most expansive game in the genre with incredibly deep mechanics and lore... AND NO J.R.R. TOLKIEN!
@Untrustedlife
@Untrustedlife 4 жыл бұрын
The fantasy races in rldr are actually significantly different from the tolkien ones if you read their descriptions. They are based more on a spec evo type thing. The hobbits live in the north and are basically short furry yetis for example, they are just called Hobbits. (It has tons of lore)
@GoodmansGhost
@GoodmansGhost 4 жыл бұрын
@@Untrustedlife Good to know, but those names give off the stink either way. I feel the roguelike genre (as in the classic style that's not rogue-lite) has a curse on it, where any game in it will have a 90% chance of having those races in it.

tl;dw: It's a roguelike with lovecraftean stuff in it, and it's in active development. That's it. That's all the information contained in these 10 minutes. You're welcome.
