Me too. The breaks from commercials on this platform instead of TV, saves time & makes it so much more enjoyable to watch these cases. I absolutely love when she (like in this case) gets information herself by actually calling and getting to the bottom of it.

Mo's face at the end proves to me he was actually shady and the judge was right for having a funny feeling about him. I don't know what he did but something is fishy about the whole process he provided and the precinct saying tow companies need to call 311. Judge Milian is smart she knows people lie and manipulate the court system.

The homeowner either calls the local precinct or 311 to file a complaint. After a summons is issued, the homeowner calls any towing company to have it removed. When the tow company removes it, they are supposed to go to that local precinct and fill in the vehicle information in a “blocked driveway” tow log so that when the owner of the vehicle calls to report it stolen, the precinct will just tell them it was towed.

Yes something was not right here. On both sides. Maybe Mo makes an intentional delay in reporting the car in order to increase the storage charges. There was no proof that they caused the damage. Maybe Mo was being belligerent at the tow yard but I bet the plaintiff and his wife were being equally as combative. It was stupid to bring his wife as a witness to the car not having damages before. Of course she is going to say that.
@esmereldaweatherwax7230
@esmereldaweatherwax7230 2 жыл бұрын
While I agree about the wife, what else is he supposed to do? The problem is that people don't generally take a photo of their car each time they park. I've seen a session of People's Court where the plaintiff got roasted for taking photos of his car after parking it, because the Judge felt that proved that he knew that parking his car there would cause a problem.
@faznout
@faznout 2 жыл бұрын
Just to make a correction here as someone who has worked for a tow company, tow truck drivers don't go back and forth to police stations reporting vehicles they towed. They call from their office and let the police know and tow truck companies also have computers that are linked to their local / city police department. So once they get the vehicle back to the lot they have someone enter all the information in the system, hit submit and it's put out there so that if and when the police do have to look it up it shows up in their system. But it would be too much craziness for tow truck drivers to drive back and forth to police stations day and night reporting towed vehicles.

The judge should not have made him pay for the tow because I have a strong feeling the defendant is lying. He saw a vehicle with a ticket and towed it, no one called him. She already found out he conducts his work not according to his it should be by not calling the police to report when he tows vehicles. I think this tow guy doesn't report the cars he tows so he can charge more in storage fees because no one knows where their cars are until he calls the police days later. That alone should have told the judge this guy is shady.

I’ve been a tow truck driver for the last 15 years and unfortunately we have a bad reputation because people can’t take responsibility when their car gets towed for illegally parking like a complete moron. People hate us until they’re broke down on the side of the highway with cars blowing by them at 85 mph and having a nervous breakdown. Somehow we turn into the best people in the world then. The plaintiff here obviously is one of those people and I’m glad the judge saw that. I’m not sure what year this case was recorded but nowadays it’s extremely easy to take 6-8 photos around a car real quick to show any prior damages and where the car was parked. When I first started in 2009 camera phones weren’t really a thing and digital cameras were expensive and not used much but times have changed. 2014 was the year I really started to used my phone for taking photos and I still have pictures going back that far on my iCloud account. It’s interesting to see the photo quality improve over the years. It wasn’t great back then but it was enough to show a dent or where the car was parked. Even now when I take high resolution photos on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with one of the best cameras in a phone on the market people will still claim I caused the damage even when you can clearly zoom in a show every little scratch down to the smallest ones. It’s pretty ridiculous how far people will go to try and get their money back on a tow for reasons they brought on themselves. Some people just can’t drive and have no respect for property owners rights and others around them who are also on the road. At the end of the day I couldn’t care less what people think of me based off their stupidity. If they want to think I’m a terrible person because their car got towed before for parking like they did then that’s on them. Anyone that knows me personally knows I’m one of the most generous people out there who would give the shirt of my back for someone. I will always have job security no matter what since cars will always break down and dumb people will never pay attention to how they park their car. There’s plenty of people out there that lack spacial awareness. It’s just unfortunate that people think poorly of the towing industry because of their screw ups in the past. I honestly love my job and get a lot of satisfaction in it for helping others when they’re having a bad day with their cars. It’s a rewarding job with its positives and negatives like anything but there’s way more positives. If someone wants to become a wrecker driver I highly recommend it. If you find a good company to work for you can easily make over 100 grand a year and get great benefits. I provide a great life to my family and the inconsiderate people who park where they want allows me to continue to provide for them so if you’re one of them I appreciate that and please continue to park like an inconsiderate fool. Thank you 😊

The first thing the tow truck driver asked the police was if someone had filed a stolen car report? Why would the car be reported stolen? Surely he logged the car in at the police department like he told the judge under oath. The police would not have generated a stolen car report if it was logged in as towed. They would have said "Your car is not stolen. We have it logged as towed."

D says he has a phone but doesn't bother to take pictures of the car illegally parked, properly report the tow, or even bother to do the most standard thing that competent tow-truckers (should) do of noting/taking pictures of any preexisting damage before taking it in? Make D pay back the full amount, teach him a lesson to not do such a piss poor job of towing cars lest he wants to continue ending up in court and having to refund the people he tows. I mean, if I was in that line of business, the first thing I'm doing is snapping pics of the car being illegally parked, then inspecting it and snapping pics of any existing damage so no one can say I towed it illegally or damaged it. When it comes to *visible* damage; the burden of proof should be on the towers, since they're the ones who can easily disprove it/cover their ass by noting/taking pictures just before the tow. What can the towee do, other than taking 360 pictures of their car every day to prove it was undamaged in the event it gets towed? If the tower is claiming "the damage was already there." Okay, then why did you not document/get evidence of that damage?

This case was INJUSTICE. The plaintiff shouldn't have had a penny back. The plaintiff even had several cases where he didn't admit any guilt in his offenses even though he was guilty. I have the feeling, that Marilyn Milian has had several parking offenses she contested, even though there was no doubt about the guilt.

It’s not the Tow Company’s responsibility to track down the owner to give them a chance to move the car. I think after a certain amount of time they should find out who the car belongs to, send a certified letter (bill that to them for it) & go from there but I don’t think they should be responsible for tracking down the owner prior to towing the car. If people parked where they’re supposed, it wouldn’t be an issue. PERIOD.

Same thing happened to me. Tow company damaged my car and then bullied me to get off of his property ASAP before I could see the damage. I had to eat all that cost.

Wonder if he needs a passport for ,that "Dual citizenship" of his? I always hold on tight when a litigant starts out opining about irrelevant issues! If anyone is interested in a great YT channel hosted by a tow trucker driver, it's called Towtrucker. I have learned a lot coming from the drivers perspective!

What was Moe supposed to do tell the desk sergeant to write more legibly? What a slap in the face to have a judge look at you and claim you are untrustworthy. With Judge Milian your quilty until proven innocent.
