Well my low effort man didn't react much to me doing my own thing. He was super keen at first and after I started spending more time with him - which is what he said he wanted - he just cruised along with his life and didn't make any effort .... at all. Thank goodness I made the decision to focus on my own progress, looking after my family, working at a job I enjoy and building wealth. Now I can see I was wasting my time, hoping for something that wasn't gonna happen. There is nothing wrong with being single... its way better than struggling to maintain a relationship that doesn't give you what you need.

Love this video! I wasted 11 years with a low-effort guy. He walked away from me straight into a relationship with another woman. It didn't last, he calls me, but I didn't respond at the time. Long story short...he calls a few years later to tell me he has Parkinson's and cancer. Wanted me to visit him (several states away). I wanted to, but work was so busy that I put it off. Time passed and I didn't know he had died. Found out when I called him and the phone was disconnected. I have felt so much guilt and grief that it's been devastating for the past 6 months. I never got closure of our relationship which lasted off and on for 33 years. Now I'm 72 and I feel like I missed the chance to find out many answers about our true feelings for one another. Loved him so much, but at the same time think that if he had felt the same way, he would't have left. Now I'll never know the real reason why he continued to keep in touch. Time ran out for us.

I really feel for you, it must be so hard wondering 'what if'. But you tried your best and as you said, he did leave you and immediately begin a relationship with someone else. It sounds as though he perhaps had an avoidant attachment style (they often move on fast to avoid their feelings). Please don't blame yourself, I'm sure you made decisions in your own best interest, which is very admirable. Believe that you chose the right path, and have that be your internal closure. It's obviously only you who knows the ins- and-outs of your time together, but I'm sure he did love you. I wish we could all have a happy ending with someone. I just told him that I didn’t expect to see him again and that it was nice to meet him. He immediately responded with “I’ve been crazy busy with work, but that isn’t an excuse for inconsistent communication. I hope I can see you again, but I totally understand if you wouldn’t want to” I said “I was making plans and following up on them before, which clearly didn’t work for either of us, so you would have to step into that role. Others in the past have mistaken my generosity for something else and that was a great misapprehension on their part” and he said “I have experienced that as well, and I not only respect, but appreciate your boundaries” so I said “thank you”. The manosphere's typical response to all videos talking about this type of thing: "Women only want the top 1% of guys like Chads and Tyrones. There's soooo many great guys in their friend friendzone that would give them a relationship. Instead these women get passed around and used by high value men who dont want them because those guys have lots of options. Then when they are older they begin looking around wondering where all the good guys are at. Stop giving these women any attention. We're the prize, kings." In some ways the low effort man is low effort because he doesn't feel its necessary to step up for you... and he doesn't want to. So that part may be true. On the other hand, since millions of women of all ages seem to be having the same experiences it appears that low effort men are a societal epidemic. They're just not that incentived or motivated to pursue like in decades past. This creates a new generation of women who have grown increasingly frustrated and hopeless towards dating.

The thing about when a guy feels things for you…I need help understanding that. Like, when it happens, how it happens, how to recognize when a guy is feeling things (since they don’t verbalize it) and how to elicit more feelings in him. His communication and efforts were always lacking, I told him i had enough of being made to feel like i was just an option in his life we got into a txting argument, i stopped talking to him for a few days and he turned up on my door step wanting to talk, we chatted i made my feelings clear i didnt hold back, because as far as i was concerned i was done, so he either stepped up or we end it, i no longer make him my priority i work full time he is retired and has the flexibility to see me on my days off. he has so far made more effort to see me his communication has improved, i figured that if he's lying he wont be able to keep up the act but only time will tell and the clock is ticking

Beautiful video Brian. I am in a funny spot with someone I just met who seems “low effort.” It gets really confusing on what to do. I want him to step up on his own. Not sure what to do next.

The guy I dated didn’t want me but his friend told me “ we match “ and I didn’t know what to say . Originally I liked his friend when I just went on a date with him … but I tried to just focus on him and at the end the friend was the one who always wanted to talk with me INSTEAD of the guy I dated for a few times … I feel so stupid … well I deleted him from social media but not his friend … I won’t date his friend but he is nice and he can be my friend What hurts me the most is that he told me “ my friend wants to talk with you … he probably misses you “ 😢😢😢😢 and yes his friend and I talk more but I just feel so stupid

Absolutely perfect what I needed this morning. Told him i want 2 be married, ( Told him this over two years ago while we were dating). Asked what do u see for us? He said be in same city( we dated in our home state, he already had plans to move and I have visited him for a year) and live together for year then be in committed rshp. I said I have standards. I want to be engaged to Live together. And Not necessarily a rush for marriage. I said it's totally up to you, and it's fine, your decision but if this isn't happening, I need to move on and look at my other options. He said, I have been put on notice.
