The theology of glory tends almost inevitably to lead back to living the law. The theology of the cross keeps us grounded in grace.

Finding God in the Darkness was such a special and helpful book for me. Thanks for this conversation on the Theology of the Cross

We are such wicked evil sinners that without suffering, we would never ever turn to God in repentance for help and salvation

Just a thought: God can only be found in the suffering of the cross can also refer to Jesus telling us to take up our cross and follow him. A book that illustrates this well is "Hinds Feet on High Places" in which the one on a spiritual journey is given Sorrow and Suffering as companions. It is when she holds their hands tightly she has the strength to get through the most difficult parts of her journey. Having a relationship with God requires continual learning and experiencing and we, as humans don't know how far we can go with this without being pushed by circumstances. A very wise woman has said: We enjoy the good times, but we grow through the hard times. And those are the times we really learn what God is like and experience His faithfulness and wisdom and compassion in ways good times can't teach us.

To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. 18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

The Bible supports multiple theologies. Everyone gets to be right.

i've never heard of this "theology of glory." it sounds really dumb though.

I hate these short segments.

i love them. i'm *much* more inclined to watch several 10-minute videos than i am to watch something like an hour or more. but it's definitely good to have both long and short videos, because everyone is different!
