As a fan of Mahjong, I've been loving this demo for a while. Also your pairs don't matter until your hand is complete.
@chrisfong89292 ай бұрын
I'm 45 and I've been playing Mahjong since I was 12. I would have thought Mahjong is way too complicated to implement as a roguelite. Having said that, you did a great job learning and playing this game. Your pronounciation was good too.
@Spikeba112 ай бұрын
Wall means deck. Terminals are 1s and 9s. Honors are non-number tiles(winds and dragons). Chow is one suit run/straight(ONLY 3 long). Pung is one suit 3 of a kind. kong is one suit 4 of a kind. The two winds in the top left corner are worth more(they cycle, one changes every hand the other every 4) (no honors or terminals is just as rare as all honors. these are restrictions people often go for, there seems to be a trick about previously played pairs don't count for getting the ) It probably had 16 hands, see the note on the winds, every wind combination played once. I imagine not having the +5 discards every round from the Green Mahjong would make getting your preferred patterns lot harder. The pair on every play is added by the roguelike, normally only the last play has a pair. I think a lot of these patters are added by the roguelike Note: I am going off of the University of Michigan Mahjong Club rules as those are the rules I grew up with.

In my, very limited experience, leaning mahjong is a lot more tractable once you realize it's using a lot of the same base mechanics as Poker, just very different names.
@kellymicheal72562 ай бұрын
Not really sure what variation of mahjong rules the University of Michigan Mahjong Club uses, but a lot of the patterns are inspired by the "chinese official" mahjong rules, which have more than 80 patterns

@OlexaYT most of the set names chow pung and Kong are basically pronounced without the last letter. at least in animes by the native speakers it was Pon, like pond without a d, kon like con artist, and cho, it's a long o. Also for later if there is richi it's reach ee. Hope that's a little helpful.
