Like she said, we got Malay, Chinese and Indian in Malaysia. Its more interesting if you can get each of these malaysian into one place and listen how they actually speak english. Its different! This one with chloe is the chinese-english. Malay-english is the easiest one. The indian is more like a tongue twist. The tone is different. For sure, Dave would go crazy. Lol 😂😂. But its interesting to learn.

안녕하세요데이브오빠! Greetings from Malaysia! First of all, big fan. Super thrilled that you decided to collaborate with Dumpling Soda and talk about Malaysia. Just wanna add some more stuff cause I feel like this video needs more explanation. Although all of what Chloe said is true, her explanations however are only based on her views as to what a Malaysian Chinese would say. Here are just some extra info. 1. 0:41 - “If you’re from Malaysia, you normally speak 3 languages. Malay, English and Chinese. ” This statement only applies to the Chinese people living in Malaysia. Most Malays and Indians don’t speak Chinese, unless they studied at a Chinese school (or by other means). Since Malaysia consists of 3 major races, which are Malay, Chinese and Indian, all of us normally speak 2 languages, Malay and English. However, just like the Chinese, who speak different dialects like Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien, the Indians also speak Malayam, Tamil, Hindi and others. For the Malays, we have the Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu and other dialects. 2. The most famous Malay food, other than rendang, is actually Nasi Lemak. Both are really good dishes. 정말 맛있어! 3. Usually, in the Malay language, (this only applies in conversations/speaking) when a word that ends with an ‘a’, it is pronounced as ‘e’. The ‘e’ sounds like the A in America or I in Bird. Even though the words are spelled as Nama, Saya, Apa, Gembira, Dia, Ada (notice that all these words end with ‘a’), they are pronounced as Name, Saye, Ape, Gembire, Die, Ade (ends with the e sound). You can actually listen back to Chloe’s pronunciation of Bahasa (4:10), Dia suka (4:22), Dia ada (4:25). Btw, ‘Lawa’ is one of the exceptions, it’s still ‘Lawa’ not ‘Lawe’. 4. One more important thing, the word ‘babi’ is considered rude in Malaysia. You usually curse with it. The meter of this curse word can go from the S word to the F word. So saying ‘Saya babi’ is actually unheard of, hahaha, and it definitely does not mean “I’m fat”. 5. The use of ‘Lah’, ‘Loh’, ‘Leh’ and ‘Ah’. In Malaysian English, or ‘Manglish’, the word ‘Lah’ is the most common and used by all races, a very Malaysian thing to say. ‘Loh’ and ‘Leh’ on the other hand are mostly used by the Chinese. Rarely you’ll hear Malay and Indian people use ‘Loh’ or ‘Leh’ among themselves, unless they’re hanging out with the Chinese. Chloe said “I’m very hungry leh, let’s go out lah.” Translated into Malay-Malay, it would sound something like “Lapar lah, jom keluar.” And Malays don’t usually ask a question with ‘Ah’ at the end of the sentence. And again, using ‘Ah’ is the Chinese way of asking questions. P.S.: I’m no expert. These are just some of my thoughts and opinions. Also not very good in English, so... sorry for the imperfect grammar. Just thought of sharing these additional info about Malaysia and how we converse. Hopefully Dave can do more Malaysia related videos in the future. :)

That "saya babi" OH MY GODDDDD! WHAT YOU JUST LEARN DAVE??!! Puhahahahahahha! In korean when people said "you're pig" is literally because you eat a lot like a pig but in Malaysia, when someone says "you're pig/awak babi" it's a swear and honestly it's like quite high level of swear. But yeahh... I couldn't help from laughing out loud when you said that words. Thanks for giving me big laugh, Dave. As Malaysian that always watching your videos, I really surprise, happy and proud to see this video. Hope you're going to do more collaboration with Chloe next time

Literally because pig is haram to muslim, and because most of Malaysians is muslim. Basically calling someone babi is like saying they're haram. But the cuss word evolved, you can basically call anyone babi in any context lol

Babi means pig. We use Babi word to offends someone. Just like swearing or cursing to someone else. Example in English = fuck you pig! That’s all.

Firstly I'm proud of Chloe appeared as the first Malaysian on Dave's channel..I remembered when Dave posted that he's looking for South East Asians to collab on his channel..I even sent a DM on his IG but he didn't see the message as I know he gets tons of DMs everyday..but Chloe maybe was chosen due to her social media influence which is an added bonus plus she's pretty..half of the video, yes,I agree with what Chloe have said but how I wish she can elaborate more about the food like Nasi Lemak and Nasi Goreng Kampung(instead of the bland Nasi Goreng that Koreans always confused when they come to Malaysia to eat) but maybe it wasn't mention or got edited due to the video main theme which is language..for the Malaysian-English that Chloe used in this video, sadly I have to disagree since it's more commonly used among Chinese-Malaysians..Singlish(Singaporean-English) is a different case where almost everyone from every races use it as a dialect..but for our Manglish(Malaysian-English),we have other expressions based on each races like Malay,Chinese and Indian etc..maybe,Chloe should have mentioned that the one she uses is Manglish-Chinese(?)..anyway,thank you Chloe for mentioning the diversity of our country Malaysia.. *was hoping for Durian(or maybe types of Durians) to appear on this episode which I think it should but sadly it didn't appear ㅠㅠ Hopefully there's another collab with a fellow Malaysian on Dave's channel..these are just my opinions on the content of the video~ #NoHate
