In Malaysia being married to different cultures or foreigners is a normal sight. We welcome them with malaysian hospitality and accept them as one of us. There no discrimination or anything bad. Thats why Malaysia are called Malaysia Truly Asia, all cultures comes together as one. Even in Malaysia itself, marrying into different tribes is a common thing here. It's sad when her cries of hopelessness are being ignored by her husband and the panelists of the show. I'm sure she had her happy moments but just by what she had said, she had been living in a fishbowl. She doesn't even get to see Korea much. Being out to see her students took off alot of her weights and makes her steps lighter. My heart goes out to her. Her whole life had been sacrificed for her family. I was hoping the show would have help to point out ways to help her out of her situation. She needs a holiday rather than renewing her vows and her expressions throughout the show said it all. Being Asians, grandparents would full-heartedly offer to help care for their grandkids. Being a Malaysian daughter I would like to offer her half-Malaysian daughters these advise. While your mum help to care for your kids, please help to care for her most cherish heart and feelings. Ask her what would make her happy if you can't already guess. Take her out for a drink, makan-makan, to the pasar, to visit friends, create youtube channel together even maybe!! Give her off days. I know kids who allocate their all of their annual leaves for their own selfish holidays and forgot their parents deserve some too. Appreciate her. As a nyonya, I would like to wish her.. mintak tachi panjang-panjang umur, hati senang slalu, murah rezeki. Toksa slalu kekki. Kalu tak puas hati, bilang aja. Jangan simpan dalam hati.

I am also not a fan that he said talking your wife down in front of his mum is the same everywhere else in the world. I am Chinese, but my partner is Austrian, and he never does that in front of his mum. In a normal Austrian household, I have never seen anyone doing that. Positive reinforcement is more the norm in western and northern parts of Europe. The uncle reminds me of my grandma. She always belittles us, especially me and my mum, because we immigrated to Austria in 2002 and she is still salty about this.

To be honest, I think a lot of women if not most would say no, they wouldn’t. It’s usually the married women who have it tougher with household chores, childcare, on top of their own jobs and other responsibilities. If your answer is yes, you must be married to a great guy, or you’re too nice (or lying)! What an uncaring and unhelpful husband. Married 38-40 yrs(?) and doesn’t know how to care for your grandchild? Proof he didnt do much raising their 2 daughters. Doesnt admire or praise his wife. Take 1 day manning the house like a burden when she does it everyday. These are not your wife’s duty but a shared duty. And of course, a commentator on the show praised him for taking care of his grandchild for 1 day. Nobody praises her for doing everything and caring for her grandchild every single day🙄 What irks me the most is he does not bother to listen to her. Tells her all the things “she doesn’t eat” while she is actively correcting him that she eats those things, and him ignoring her. Blaming it on her that he brings her to the same place to eat out for 40 years, not his own laziness and lack of care. The fact she went so many years in korea without a single friend besides her students is so devastating to hear. Her family life suffocated her. I think she must ask herself daily why she is still in this marriage, maybe for the sake of her children

This marriage last long, because she feels trapped. I don´t like the way he is treating her. The way he belittles her, it´s like he is better somehow. And I blame the traditional Asian way of raising kids for that because in China is the same. Especially, the generation of my grandparents and my mums. The men of my mum´s generation - some of them are spoiled rotten, because of the importance of the male gender in the Asian tradition. My grandma always belittles me, but never my two younger male cousins. She always wished for me to marry a Chinese, which will never happen because I was raised in Austria in a city where the majority of the population is Caucasian. My partner is Austrian and the only reason she accepts him is because he is a physicist. If my partner belittles me like that, I am gone! My self-worth is more worth than love.

I thought the same thing. She’s a very sweet lady and so patient. She’s still a beautiful lady.

I just loved this family. They are so adorable. To be married for 40 years as an international couple is no small feat. I come from a place where intercaste and inter religious marriages are still not that acceptable and couples have to go through many hurdles like they get outcasted from society and abandoned by their families and even get murdered by their own family. But I've always believed that we shouldn't look at different caste, religion or nationality in love.

It really is a beautiful thing for their granddaughter to meet and play with her great-grandmother. It's a different kind of bond, and it really strengthens you in your sense of self. Even though she's a baby, being able to even touch lasts forever. I love this!

She comes from a multi-cultural and multi-lingual country (Malaysia) and going to live in Korea must be really hard. Not only leaving her family but Korea is very homogeneous and a lot less varieties of people and cultures and that’s hard for a foreigner. Her husband owes her a lot. They’re both sweet in this video.
