It's interesting that you mention the high note that flys in every once in a while. The same happens for me on Pure Virginia. I thought they were almost minty. I described them as minty lightning bolts, they show up for a blink of an eye. I have not tried this burley yet. Only bought two 100g tins so Im going to age it a little 1st and try to make it last.

It's so good. It sits next to the great burley flakes such as Solani Age Burley Flake, Wessex Burley Slice and Cobblestone Hiking.

Great video! Better buy a pound or two to cellar (Don’t panic buy) with STG buying Mac Baren and Sutliff who knows if this blend is going go stick around or even stay the same. It probably will, but you never know.

Absolutely one of my favorite burleys for years. Excellent stuff. I also dig the Solani ABF, all the C & D Burley Flakes (#1, 3 and 5 especially) and Cobblestone's Hiking. If you haven't tried those, too, might wanna give em a shot. I"ll subscribe just to see if you do. :)

I really like this tobacco, one of the few blends I have a pipe dedicated to.

@amanrelaxes actually it is a pipe I got at an antique store. It was unsmoked, a billiard that I assume is a second from somebody. It's a Harrington Park, made in France, Algerian briar. Nice tall bowl to accommodate those wonderful HH flakes folded and stuffed.

That's so cool. I've yet to find an estate pipe (or old unsmoked pipe for that matter) out in the wild.

Sounds like a killer blend man. I'm finding more and more that burley 's compliments so many other flavors. They're much more than the one trick pony I initially thought they were when I started smoking

I was scared of them at first because I kept running into stronger (nicotine) blends. But no I couldn't get by without them. At any given time, they might be my go to.

Mac Baren puts out some smooth burleys. This, Golden Extra, and Symphony come to mind.

Maybe I'm alone with this but I feel the Mac Baren brand makes the most consistently high quality tobacco blends versus any other brand. And to narrow it down even further, their HH line is just exquisite. Peterson/Dunhill comes in a close but still a bit distant second. Just my personal observations.

I would agree based on everything I have had from them other than their aromatics-but that's a me problem since I just hate aromatics. 🤓

I would like to hear your thoughts when you near the end of the tin. I have had some I loved at start and lost that love as I went through the package. And others the more I sat with the more I enjoyed

I'll try and remember. And I've experienced that as well with different blends. Like Capstan Blue just kept getting better throughout the year and ended up my favorite "new to me" blend of 2023.

Haunted Bookshop is a weird and musty burley blend. I consider it a bit of an oddball compared to others like this one and Solani for example. I do enjoy it.

if you like this, def check The Hiking by Cobblestone, part of their Outdoors Series. To me the Hiking is more stout and stronger, than HH.
