A few important points which hasn't been mentioned: - Not just Charged backfist, but most special attacks (Palm strike, Crotch punch, Snap kick etc) have their contextual variation (with generally the same effect) when you're holding a weapon. - Certain direction-based attacks also have special variations when being input "inverted" relative to the player's facing direction. For example, inputting "inverted" Sweep will perform backsweep which avoids top attacks; inputting "inverted" Palm strike will perform backwards pushkick which additionally impacts enemy structure. That can also be set-up with Flowing Claw. - Speed of the enemies' structure restoration depends on their HP: at about 25% health their structure won't regain at all. That also applies to bosses (with exception of boss 2nd phase "broken structure" takedown to be able to spare them). - Collisions with walls/obstacles when being pushed/thrown consumes additional structure; that applies to both enemies and player. - Interrupting enemy attack with your own attack (or weapon throw) additionally damages their structure.

They didnt make the description for throw incomplete. You can't perform a throw off of just a dodge, you perform the throw by striking them, in the post-dodge slow-mo state, to stun them. You can then throw once they're stunned by the post-dodge attack.

Great video, Djisso. But it also should be noted that when sparing a boss, you DO NOT want to deplete their health completely or it will result in you automatically killing them. And also also, you have to be in VERY close range of the boss to be able to spare them.

Something I haven't seen anyone talk about is the unique property of Duck Strike to do non-lethal damage. It does damage but will not kill an opponent and is therefore a useful tool when trying to spare a boss but their hp is low. You can see it in this video at 1:37 with what I am assuming is an inverted duck strike

The only enemies you shouldn't spam this on is the deciples, juggernauts and the enforcers. Also since the ducking punch and crotch punch also count as avoids, they'll stun most enemies lol

Nice vid. I want to be the ambassador for the Ground Parry since it hasn't been mentioned by anyone. Firstly it floors Seans disciples when they follow up on their sweep. It can even do this to flashkick girls, even their axe kick can be ground parried. You have the option to either follow up or give yourself breathing space. Give it a play around against bosses as well, in Master they sweep a lot more so at least you can return damage easily.
@Djisso2 жыл бұрын
Thats the thing though, the ground counter works the way it is intended to work and that’s why I didn’t mention it. The skills I did mention were the ones which mechanics or description weren’t exactly accurate or complete. But the moment you pick up the ground counter and press the right button at the right time, you will be able to knock enemies down and avoid taking additional damage. It is a must needed skill in the master difficulty though ✨
@djoakeydoakey10762 жыл бұрын
Works as intended, ah that makes sense. I think after it gets unlocked people don't opt for using it instead of the roll or kick attack. I don't see it used much when I watch vids online. It's great against fajar and Yang since they sweep a lot and follow up straight away.
@kotaguy711 ай бұрын
Some extra hints to spice up your gameplay - when you do a hook intercept during an attack coming at you, you are still able to parry if you time it well. Same with the backwards duckstrike.
@kotaguy79 ай бұрын
The flowing claw is also my favorite as it can prepare you to attack an enemy you were facing in even more ways. The push kick is a great follow-up, the backwards duck strike, back fist, even just the sweep.
@Aries009811 ай бұрын
For the directional throw to work after the dodge, you need to first "stun" an enemy by hitting them after you dodge. The description is technically correct but still incomplete. Similarly, saying you can perform a directional throw after a dodge is also quite misleading and incomplete.
@lobefish50062 жыл бұрын
It’s worth noting that “super” enemies, or Elites, can transfer the possibility of going super saiyan to another enemy, this can happen if you either defeat said scripted enemy without using a takedown, or go for other enemies instead. This can easily be shown in the rooftop/ warehouse on the squats, and the room with 4 guys in the tower. Also, avoiding them isn’t always the best idea if you want more XP or score.
@Djisso2 жыл бұрын
Can 100 percent confirm this. Sometimes someone else can transform and defeating them give you more XP Thanks for the insight
@k3389142 жыл бұрын
@@Djisso It is actually even more complicated. There are certain enemies hardcoded to always "empower" if being taken down, only about three or four through all game. Whether the player triggers them or not, does not influence on triggering others. There are certain enemies who have variable probability to empower; these ones are regular but have subtle highlight on their HP bar. For those, the probability accumulates with every encounter ended without triggering anyone, as it is said in the video. The only additional thing to note is that said probability differs depending on difficulty level; on Student the individual chances are globally lower. Elites and regular enemies without highlighted HP will never empower as of v1.8 game version. On release and up to v1.5 there still were cases when random regulars could empower, however somewhere around v1.7 it has been seemingly shadow-fixed to comply to general rules.
@Djisso2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the insight mate. Quick question though, do you think the frequency at which the enemies will turn in the master difficulty is higher ? Sometimes I feel like you have to kill even fewer enemies for the next one to turn And also I was playing earlier today and a random normal enemy turn, which was very unusual
@lobefish50062 жыл бұрын
@@Djisso actually, for master difficulty, I don’t feel as if much has changed. I say this because I legitimately played through both master and disciple one after the other, and pretty much encountered the same amount of elite opponents. To me, it feels as if: You go into a room, with a “scripted elite”, and avoid said elite, the next room may very well have the “maybe elite enemies”, aka the gray ones become 100% elite enemies on a takedown. However, if you trigger an elite in the room, then move on to the next room, the chances for an elite I think drop down to 0, and I feel as if master difficulty doesn’t change this at all. As for the other point, there are specific enemies that will never become an elite. However, just because they’re a “normal” enemy, doesn’t mean they’ll be excluded from becoming one. This is most well shown in the room before the trial in the club, as pretty much any “normal” enemy there can go elite, except for the flashkick of course. Edit: (not like this matters much anyhow since unless they’re with a crowd of others, elites are kinda easy)

@@smoothfeen6274 imo, the first boss is about as hard as the 4. The second boss is pretty easy once you learn the pattern. The third boss is by far the hardest (excluding the final boss). I spent hours light night getting to the third level at age 20, but I have no desire to try and defeat the third boss with no deaths, even though she has the best boss shortcut in the game. The reason I started this comment was to say that I’d suggest just beating the game/maxing your skills before attempt an age 20 run. I just got this game when it released on steam and videos like this are so helpful. The game is fun, but it also seems kinda bad at teaching the player how to actually play the game past the basic mechanics. It also seems like a lot of the enemies have attack patterns that aren’t reactable and have to be learned/memorized, which also hurts initial playthroughs. Also, the final boss being immune to focus moves is really scummy. Very frustrating game, but super fun when you start getting the hang of it.

Thx a lot for your guide ✌️ it's one of the most interesting Guides how to Sifu and it deserves the Masterguide Titel. Shame on me I didn't already thumb up and comment as I beginned 3 days ago better on it after your Guide. I never needed any "how to fight" in a Game but my confused Sifu beated up ass told me about my needings. Your Guide is brilliant and it saved a lot of time to me but it's not ultimate, only thing I had from elsewhere cause it's not in your guide is about what to pick at the shrines. After all I think Structure is very Importent but Health recovery seems obviously also too. What are Sifus favorite and recommended Shrine Attributes to pick?
@Djisso2 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome !🥋 The reason why I didn’t include the bonuses is because I made a separate video a while ago about the shrines locations and what Bonuses to get. The second reason is that the bonuses you would get vary from one player to the next. I never got the health on takedown bonus for example because you already get HP from shrines and killing enemies. That bonus feels way too overkill And depending on your runs, the bonuses you get will always change. I don’t use weapons for example. So I never invest in weapon Durability or weapon Damage. But If I was going for a speedrun, then I would consider those as they save a lot of time Recently, I have been doing multiple challenges involving not interacting with any shrines. Health management is key and I would say that the two bonuses which will always make a different are the Structure upgrade and Parry impact. Parrying/Dodging are core mechanics in the game and if you can get the most out of them, then thats always a good thing

I’ve never played this game but want to. It looks so good but heard it’s short…is that true?
@venosaur12121214 күн бұрын
It's short. There is only 5 leves, and you can do them in 20 minutes max. BUT. The game is hard. On normal difficulty I couldn't get through the second level. I could now. But now I have more than 10 hours in it.

Is it normal in training mode to only have the gangster because when I tried to change the enemy It wouldn't let me nor would it let me change the enemy level it would only let me change how many there were I'm confused.
@marcdaniels_za Жыл бұрын
Had the same issue coming back after beating the game last year - you need to run through the hideouts again and beat each enemy once (if you havent since the Training patch was released). As you beat enemies, they will start appearing in Training.

I play this on easy and i still struggle with this game! I'm not new to gaming or fighting games at alllll i guess i just suck at this game. Which really breaks my heart beyond belief because i waited for this game for forever! I love fighting games so freaking much! I want to not struggle with this games so badly!! I do well in the training part of the game yet fail during the main game.. I just wish so badly i could play this and get the amazing feelings of satisfaction beating up bad guys.. But im afraid ill never experience that.. Its caused me to stop playing it. When you struggle that much at a game the fun factor fly's out the window.. Am i the only one struggling like this ?! Honestly?!?! I accidentally the very beginning of the game. The part where you fight and look for the kung fu sifu. Man if the fighting was like that i would do just fine! Man that felt so amazing! The best feeling of any fighting games I've ever played. I thought man this is going to be amazing! But nope. The rest of the game is way harder than the very beginning. I will probably get slack forthis from the immature individuals.. The children. If your that person grow up seriously

I started on student and its a good way to learn the game imo. you can also carry over your skill unlocks to a disciple or master save qhen you want to crank it up! its a tough game. it took me a good few goes to beat it on student and I'm still yet to beat it on disciple

Does restarting a level makes you lose moves? Before starting the club level I used to have the crotch kick (up up triangle) the turning grab, the charged hook (block + triangle) and after I restarted that mission a couple of times then went to menu, they were gone. I only have the sweep, palm strike and the counter you do after parriying

@Djisso2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you do have to get old to eventually have the symbol on your back. I don’t remember exactly at what age it starts appearing but I think by 40 you should get a jacket with symbols on your back
@Valentin_MeL2 жыл бұрын
@@Djisso Thanks. But it's kinda hard for me to get that old in this game 😁. I guess i actually get good at this game. Well, now it's time for modifiers. Espessially that goal at sanctuary where you have to complete the game without death, any skills or shrine boosts. This goal is actually hard. So sad that the game doesn't have any costumes as a reward for completing the game without dying.
@Djisso2 жыл бұрын
Or even an achievement for finishing the game without dying. A sick looking costume could have motivated people to get better at the game. Those are little ways to incite people to play your game And I have experience with not having any skills since I used to do little challenges before the update. Lightning Strikes and the sweep are your best friends in that kind of run

@seanfrazee51463 ай бұрын
Her main attack can be dodged, just remember it's high low high low (or the inverse I can't exactly remember) and then punish her. If you carry a weapon on hand you can block her strikes otherwise and then punish. For phase two, deflect or avoid her main combo and throw back her kunai, be sure to rush her if this stuns her

Thats “Up+Down+Heavy Attack Button” The skill are direction based so if an enemy is on your left, to perform a sweep that would be “Left+Right+Heavy attack Button”
