Did you really think us old farts had nothing good to listen to? You haven't even scratched the surface of the great music from the Golden age of rock. From the mid-60's to the early eighties was an explosion of great musicians creating some of the best music ever made.

"Born On The Bayou", "Suzie Q", and "I Heard it Through the Grapevine" are gonna rock your socks off! But save some time for "Proud Mary", "Bad Moon Rising", "Green River" and "Midnight Special" too. Plus, between "Lodi", "Don't Look Now", and "Lookin' Out My Backdoor", Creedence just might well be the original country rock band too.

John Fogerty was so underrated. Extremely talented and we probably missed out on some good stuff due to a lengthy dispute with his record label. Take a break from rocking for just one minute and grab some laughs with Bob Dylan’s Rainy Day Women. Love your show and so do all my friends. We’re in our 60s.

What they all said! CCR was amazing, and also a prime influence in my learning to play guitar in the late 60s. Singer / lead guitarst John Fogerty was later sued for releasing solo material that sounded like CCR, after their manager conned them out of royalties. Sadly, a common tale from back in the day where $$$$ turns people against each other.

I’m pretty sure this was recorded at Woodstock. I got in so much trouble being there. I was 15 and went with 2 of my best friend’s older brothers. Called my mom when we got to NY... she was not happy. It was about 1am when they came on. The Grateful Dead played so long that a lot of people had fallen asleep. But I was able to walk pretty close to the stage. I couldn’t sleep from being muddy and wet. It was probably the worst and best time of my life. Riding in a 62 VW bug and a month being grounded not the best part.😎

Oh, they could jam the HECK out of a song. Check out the live version of "Suzie Q". It's about 10 or 11 minutes long, and was included as a bonus track on the 40th anniversary edition of their debut album. Or check out the live version of "Keep on Chooglin'" from their Oakland concert in 1970. Or the full 11-minute version of "I Heard it Through the Grapevine", which has one of the most epic guitar instrumentals ever. Or "Pagan Baby" which is a relentless, intense, escalating jam. All of these can easily be found.

I play and sing it a la john fogerty. Seems like you never really liked this song to begin with. I listen to this song at least 3 times a day. Have been for over 25 years. Since you like guitar, I have some suggestions for you. First is the Outlaws song Green Grass and High Tides. They have been referred to as the Guitar Army. Second is a long time favorite of mine, which is Alvin Lee, and it don't matter if you listen to his solo work or his work with the band Ten Years After. A couple of suggestions are TEN YEARS AFTER - HELP ME(LIVE 1983 and Alvin Lee - The Bluest Blues

HazeBruv, CCR was one of my top 5 bands growing up along with the Beatles and the Stones. They have lots of great songs. This version of "Spell" was my favorite version until about 6 months ago when I discovered Angelina Jordan's version at 9 years old! She is true to the original by 1956 Screaming Jay Hawkins. Her video has over 8 million views on YT. If you were to react to it I promise over 500 like the first day since she has a huge and loyal fan base. It may be a little out of your wheelhouse but I guarantee you will go crazy over it. You will not believe your eyes and ears. Love this channel!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your reaction! CCR was my fav band of all time. SO talented. Lead singer, lead guitar & songwriter - John Fogerty. It's his voice and guitar you are listening to here. He still tours, BTW. Bass guitar - Stu Cook, drums - Doug Cliffird, rhythm guitar - Tom Fogerty (John's older brother). John Fogerty was the genius behind CCR. They literally don't have a bad song. Some of my favs- Run Thru the Jungle, Green River, Born on the Bayou, Up Around the Bend.

Their first album was their best (and I'm usually alone stating this, I know) - but believe me: extended guitar solos and bluesy soulful swamp rock at its best. And the rest of their best work is spread among the other albums, and I don't mean hits, no, the hidden jewels that didn't make it on the radio.
