We had a Beautiful Black Version, a Belgium Sheepdog. He was a joy, intelligent and totally chill (brought a smile to everyone!!!) Please keep in mind though they suffer in the hot weather though with the heavy thick coat, best to be shawn temporarily early summer... RIP dear beloved Bear 💕

My Shiloh was so amazing. He just gave so much of himself to me and my family. We were attached at the hip. It took me a while to realize what he was doing when he'd look up at me and lean into me guiding me to the couch...he knew when I was about to develop a migraine or go into a fibro flare. The last time my dad visited, he'd lay down under my dad when dad was on the porch swing, King would be panting and watching. My dad passed due to cancer. We had to euthanize King when we found out he was riddled with cancer. It was a if he stayed so near my dad so he could take my dad's cancer on himself. I love him and will never forget him. So thankful he was in my life.

A very beautiful story, King sounds like a wonderful companion! I lost my cat to cancer yesterday, she was wonderful and always knew when I needed her company, even seemed to take some of my sickness with her as well! So your comment really resonated with me. We tried to make her last week the best she could ever have with her condition (she only showed signs of being unwell when her cancer was too advanced sadly). The little lady lived to be 3 years old and was a blessing in our house, all our guests left in love with her.

There is always a lesson of love and life on thier departing and often we feel them thanking us for letting them go. I told King he was a "Good, big doggy and I'll be okay". I believe he needed to hear that, I know I needed to hear it. My late husband and I parted with quite a few fur babies and I was overwhelmed with losing the last 3 we had together 1 if which was my aged mare. Now I have the first dog and rabbit that are all my own. I've had a life rich with amazing pets, all close to my heart. I thank God for each 1. My prayers are with you in your grief and as you decide if there will be another pet in your future.,~Peace

I know! I’d love to own a Shiloh Shepherd or two but I have to live where it’s snowy and full of hills and mountains because this breeds thrives in it. A dog this big can’t thrive in an apartment, condominium, townhome, loft, or studio. You need either a large house with a huge backyard or a huge farmstead.

What a cutie!! I typically think non-recognised dogs tend to be much more healthy than breed standards recognised by kennel clubs. My Frenchie isn't breed standard because her muzzle is "too long" when in reality she was bred that way to make her healthier.

Any pet is healthier than what standarts currently are! In every type of animal they try to "cut off" their face as much as possible, they want actual fur babies and not healthy animals that could live long live and not just survive through suffering. I hope dog standarts will reverse to decades ago, when dogs actually had a muzzle and not a punched in skull.

Alaskan Huskies are as genetically similar as any recognized breed and yet their looks are far too varied for showing, because they are purpose bred. AKC is just politics and opinions. They're very limited in their usefulness as they don't stop bad breeding practices within pure breeds and they haven't saved us from the proliferation of doodles either. Shilohs are just a new breed, that's it. Your snobbery isn't going to make them go away 😂
