Loved the friend who came in to keep dad on track. ☺️ The family did a great job.

Why haven’t the parents taught their children to contribute to the household? It’s a parents job to not only love, protect and provide, but to raise your children to be capable and functional adults. To foster independence is healthy and necessary.

This family is typical of this "entitled" generation. They want everything done for them.

A parent's job is not to be a butler to their children but a teacher.

Those children weren’t raised right. By doing everything for them, they encouraged bad behavior. I had 7 children and had an orderly home. Even a 3 year old can put silverware away!

My thoughts exactly. Even as a small child I was taught to clean my toys and don't use living room as play area.

I have two boys who are 4 (almost 5) and 2 (almost 3) they both help me clean my house. I have them help me clean because most of the messes are theirs anyway, and they will never learn if I don't teach them.

My niece just turned one and she loves walking around with a broom *attempting* to sweep, and cleaning her toys away and keeping herself busy because she's always watched my sister do it and loves to feel included! there's no excuses as to why an 8 year old shouldn't be able to clean

They didn't even discard and downsize their belongings. Vic could have sold some of his collectibles, and make a few thousand dollars. I can't imagine where his money is coming from, if he is buying things constantly.

The children are old enough to keep their own room and space clean 🙄 Also there’s nothing wrong with chores so just start delegating their own chores: clean their room, sorting their own laundry, help in the cleaning around the house.

Those children are way old enough to keep their rooms clean. This should have been taught when they were younger., A 15-year-old can definitely learn how to do laundry. The woman is ready for a breakdown.

One day, she could walk out, and never return. Sad that they take her for granted.

ALL the stuff he 'collected' is pure junk ! The thing is if they had a house twice the size there would be twice the mess.

I need a Kim. Totally understand this woman’s frustration. Husband “collects” anything. But this storage units in hall were ugly and in the way.

I would have a hard boundary for the husband's collectibles. If it doesn't fit in that hallway cabinet, it has to be sold. And then later if he finds something he wants to buy, he has to sell something in the cabinet first.

It makes a very big difference in a child's early years learning basics about the home they live in. Children can be taught very early to clean up after themselves. Little chores at a time. We learned early and it sure didn't hurt us to know house care and cooking. We all did laundry and dishes and outside chores as well as our own bedrooms. Mom was a depressive and often couldn't function well.. My nickname was house mouse because I did the majority of the care. I don't mind Teaching children some sense of personal pride is a parents job too We were given allowance because we did help . Yes there is no excuse for this kind of slop living. None

I love Ms Kim. I remember watching her show many years ago. The hoarder needs to open his store, and sell the products. If he gets $1, at least there is open space. The parents' bad habits are passed down to the children. The opportunity to be the stars of a TV show united the family to clean the clutter. What happened a year later?
