Mari didn't mention before he wanted to make his bible, and the pope denied it because he added his own belief, and there were many mistakes. Also, he believed the 7 books that non-cathonics dont have were not the words of God.

@@timothypeterson4781 Yes he did. He added the word "alone" to Romans 3:28. The is where the doctrine of Sola Fide comes from. It was a bridge too far and was removed. All-in-all modern bibles, due to the Protestant monopoly, are heavily biased. A verb over here becomes a noun, a passive participle over there becomes active. Certain words are not consistently translated properly. All of Protestant doctrine stands on subtle manipulation that adds up to outright violence against the text.. The last time I attended a Protestant church I was telling a King James only guy that he would really like the LSB (having just read it). I added the caution that it had "MacArthur's fingerprints" all over it. Meaning blatant bias in certain parts to support private theology. The NIV is not jokingly referred to as the "not inspired version" because of where it is on the literal to paraphrase spectrum. It get's that label over being egregiously biased. I am now Eastern Orthodox. Get an Eastern Orthodox study bible. It is based on the NKJV, put points a lot of the problems out in the footnotes along with presenting correct patristic theology. I am sure you know what it means to take a bible verse out of context. When through Sola Scriptura you extricate all of scripture from the Holy Tradition that created it, you take the whole thing - every last letter - drastically out of context. That is the beginning of problems with Sola Scriptura. This is why Protestantism is endless schisms of every heresy every conceived. Protestants forgot to stop protesting.

Do you not know that everyone there is a Catholic ? For 'Outside of the Church, No Salvation' is a Catholic Dogma (Catechism #846) and it is a Truth handed down from the beginning of the Church. Please read Rev 21:9-14 about the New Jerusalem, Our Lord's Bride, founded on the 12 Apostles. Our Lord is the Head of His One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church, which is His Body and Bride whom He saves (Eph 5:23).

As a Lutheran I can confirm that you are correct in a way. Just to clarify, the original intent of Luther was to reform the catholic church, not start his own. But since he was excommunicated he saw no other choice and did join arms with Philip Melanchthon to form their own church

'Outside of the Church, No Salvation' is a Catholic Dogma (Catechism #846). Why wander about outside Our Lord's Only Fold (John 10:16), and abandon your eternal salvation ? Come quickly to His Only Fold, so that you may hear His Voice, truly know and follow Him, and be saved by Him (John 10:27-28). May God open your eyes, grant you understanding, and lead you to His Only Church for your salvation. Amen !

He began with that to let the reader know that he acknowledges his very own denomination that he is a member of is not exempt from the statement following. Christ alone saves. Jesus himself says "you must be born again".

I was borned in a protestant church, but I met Jesuchrist at 25. All the knowledg about Jesus and my sin came into my head when the holy Spirit convinced me of my sins and faith came to me thanks to the Bible, not the religious branch. Branches cannot save, only Jesus is the way and we know him by studying the Bible and coming into repentance.

You need to read the Qur'an because it talks about all the prophets and says that the only savior is Allah. It is not that simple. When you really start studying theology, you will run into a lot of challenges, that you can not solve on your own. You will understand that you need teachers, churchfathers and so on. And then the question becomes: Which one of them were right?

Mar Mari forgot to mention at one point the Lutheran's corresponded with the Orthodox Church. When the Orthodox Church investigated Luther's teachings, they rejected them. The Lutherans ended the talk. Mar Mari inferred here that Orthodoxy is truer than Catholicism.

@@theprofessor42o yes repent from unbelief to belief that Jesus is the Christ. See John 6:28-29 and John 6:40. Now in terms of repenting of sins. It has nothing to do with your salvation/going to heaven. If you would like to repent of your sins, you do it to be in fellowship with God.

One thing to point out as a Protestant, most churches that are Protestant branches do not say they are in the right. They rather say that there is no perfect church on Earth but only One Church in Heaven. And that, as Christians, born again or not, can all agree.

Martin Luther was completely okay with this because repentance should be done by and THROUGH Jesus Christ. I never once have repented to another human being other than my savior. If Luther had this Fake mental Peace and subjective well-being I do Not know, but he Never objectivelly repented and reconciliated, he Never mended his atrocious political and religious behaviour and he cut himself from salvation. I am a follower of Christ, i believe he’s God and came to us as human. Fulfilled the scriptures and is back to his Father in heaven waiting to come back. I believe the Word of God only and only pray to Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He is my only mediator to the Father and the Holy Spirit is my guide, and comforter.

@maidofjhwj Luther discarded the book of Macabees because it went against his beliefs. This occured at the debate with Eck. He also taught God was the creator of Evil. Luther also said there was true Christianity within the Papacy. He also admired their Saints such as Athenasius. Also don't look up what he thought of Mary. Might be too Catholic. Luther also only wanted the scripture to be the only infalliable source he still respected the church and traditions. So I don't think Luther would like you guys. He probably liked us more hence why Lutherans are closer to Roman Catholics.

As an Orthodox Bulgarian, I can say that there are many paths to our creator. The Eastern Orthodox faith is the most difficult to follow. But which faith will lead you to God in the fastest and most direct way. This faith has also been unchanged for 2000 years and has been preserved in its purest form. All other Christian religions have unfortunately been repeatedly changed and therefore are and will remain heresy. And remember God is love! And try to love even your enemies if you want to be saved! God is perfect and he wants us to try to be perfect too. Yes, it is not an easy task, but it is the only way we can become one with him after death. To merge with Divine harmony and absolute peace and joy.

I am a protestant, but ive decided to return to Orthodoxy, like Martin Luther would have if he knew he could. I know. I have read about orthodoxy and catholicism, and i know why Martin Luther was disenchanted with Catholicism at the time, and i still dont like catholicism, but i intend to return to Orthodoxy now, it will take time for me to learn everything, like the fasting, which protestants dont do, but i intend to attend the orthodox church in Copenhagen, and do my best. Protestantism was born out of goodness and holiness, and was necessary at the time, but it is time to return to the true church.

Grew up atheist, grew into a young adult and discovered the southern baptist church. Spent 9 long years there. The Catholic church is and forever will be my home. I have no need to protest Jesus' church. I agree with all of His teachings and I do not wish to protest them. I want to fight for the battle of my eternal soul alongside all the saints in heaven and all the angels, not just a faint promise that my faith in Christ is a two way relationship when I was actively denying his teachings and wishes.

3,000 branches is a bit drastic, but it is also exactly what Christ said of His ministry, His church. That He, not the Orthodoxy was the roots and nothing happens , no life, without Him. The plant will have a main trunk, some varieties will have several trunks, but then they will explode with branches and leaves. You think there's safety and truth in singleness? In fact, it is our diversity that makes us harder to destroy. This is why the enemy has turned his energy towards the trunks and roots, because there are too many branches and leaves. Martin Luther protested the immorality of the Catholic Church and their keeping humanity bound to their man-made creeds, when in all actuality, salvation is obtainable now, and it costs nothing, because it is a gift. An idolatrous priest requires you to buy their silver idols, but a true shepherd opens the gates and allows the sheep to graze wherever they can find food.

It doesn’t matter, what the Holy Father in Rom does. We, Catholics have to be faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church, which is His Mystical Body and the only True Church. We have to pray for the Pope, but also we have to know very well our faith. St. Teresa of Avila, St. Pio V and St. John of the Cross also lived during the reformation time (and they were faithful to our Lord) - the reform spread like a cancer all around Europe, because people didn’t know their faith. Creating a new church is an act of disobedience and pride and these terrible sins come only from the evil one. Our Lord didn’t wait 1500 years to create the real church. I pray for the conversion of sinners and souls who are confused and lost in wrong believes because they don’t know what they are doing. Luther only wanted to remain Catholic and get rid of the corruption that had crept in. It was the Catholic church who departed from the truth, not Martin Luther. He was trying to bring it to ONLY truth. It did need more reforming, as there was only so much time in his life along with the other reformers to work on this, which is one reason there are more Protestant denominations.

My dude, a huge part of Luther’s protest was to translate the Bible from latin to german so that ordinary people could read scripture without a priest interceding. One of the fundamental aspects of protestantism is that the Bible has a greater influence on a believers faith than the church, that salvation can be found outside the church, but not outside Christ.

My guess would be John 14:6. Even though it's not bad to love Mary for having birthed Jesus, praying to Mary equals to idol worship as Mary is not Jesus and only Jesus is the way. It would be the same for praying to a saint. Prayers are for Jesus because only Jesus is the way. Jesus himself said so

Praying the rosary is not praying to Mary. The rosary is a meditation on the lives of Jesus and Mary. We honor Mary, we do not worship her. Mary is a queen! How, you ask? She was a Jew and the mother of a king(Jesus). In Jewish culture, the mother was queen. See 1 Kings 2:19. Note king Solomon bows to his mother Bathsheba and has a throne placed on his right for his mother! So, if Mary is the mother of Jesus, she is queen forever! See Luke 1:32 ...the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there will be no end. So keep praying the rosary! Wow. I so wish I would be blessed enough to talk with him on these and similar issues. I was raised Plymouth Brethren but that was just my starting place. I had to find Jesus for myself years later. I am a Jesus lover and follower. Jesus said to me that He is my brother and God the Father is my ABBA in Heaven. I watch and listen to hours of Mar Mari Emmanuel. I love many things he says. I know Jesus is real in his heart. I also humbly have questions that I know he has no time for. May God open our hearts and minds, all of us. ❤️

Let's not forget that around the same time that Martin Luther led around 1.2 to one and a half million Catholics away from the RCC in Europe, the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mexico made possible the conversion of up to five million or more indigenous people from the Americas into Christianity via the Catholic church. More than three or four times the people Martin Luther Led a stray. Not the Orthodox Church. Not Protestants. The Virgin Mary appeared and made this miracle possible through the RCC. Blessed be God forever and God bless my Catholic church and everyone reading this! 🙏🙏

I am Lutheran, most of what is said here is correct. Luther's purpose was not to create a new church, but to reform the existing Roman Catholic church. The terms "Lutheran" and "Protestant" are both exonyms. Originally Luther wanted to call his church the "Evangelical Catholic Church," but the term Lutheran got stuck to us, and we just decided to keep it. The best way to understand the Lutheran Reformation is to think of the Catholic church undergoing mitosis, where on the one hand you have the Roman Catholic and on the other you have the Evangelical Catholic. Other Protestant churches came out of other movements. Luther lived during the time when the Holy Roman Empire was dominating Germany, and Charles V was closely allied with the Pope. He was helped by local rulers, such as Frederick the Wise, who was an elector. He did know about the existence of the Orthodox churches, and had a much respect for the Ethiopian Orthodox church, which he thought was the first Church established among a gentile community. After he passed away, there was an attempt made to achieve communion with the Eastern Orthodox church, but we weren't able to agree on everything. We do generally have a positive view of the Orthodox communities, and would be open to having some sort of communal reciprocity if it could ever be worked out.

@@Sixpenny2480 That's right. The more popular Protestant churches (at least in the US) are reboot movements, where they decided to toss everything but the Bible and start over from the beginning. It's not a bad idea in principle, but the problem is they have no tradition, so they end up getting influenced by the secular world whether they mean to or not. That's why a lot of these churches now have rock music and fog machines. The RC Church is actually less conservative than Biblical Lutheranism, because their doctrine gets updated whenever they have a new council or Papal decree, and that has always been the case. Biblical Lutherans are a standalone, we aren't in communion with anyone, even other Lutherans. Some of the churches which call themselves "Lutheran" (like ELCA) are no longer sola-scriptura, and allow for things like woman pastors and "gay marriage." So they could never speak at our churches, and if one of their people wanted to join us he would have to go through the catechumenate, and then make a confession of faith where he renounces the Devil and all his works in front of the church.

Etliche Konflikte und Kriege sind wegen ihm entstanden, zig Millionen Menschen sind dabei umgekommen. Auch heute sind die Protestanten nicht im Einklang mit den Katholiken. Es wäre viel besser wenn es diese Kluft nicht geben würde, dann wäre das Christentum noch um einiges stärker und mächtiger, so das auch Europa viel besser dran wäre, wir sehen ja wie es hier immer mehr bergab geht, weil das Christentum in grossen Teilen Europas schwach geworden ist.

Contrary to this video, Martin Luther was very much aware of the existence of the Eastern church, and not long after Luther, the leaders of the Reformation went to the Orthodox prelate seeking common ground. They were spurned. The Reformers didn't start a new church, instead, they used the Bible and the Patristic Fathers as their guide to return to catholic Christianity.

Not really, Catholics at the time viewed eastern christians as estranged heretics. There was little love or care left between Orthodox and Catholics, especially after the Sack of Constantinople, the Tyranny of the Latin Empire and the Fall of Constantinople.

@jacktracy8356 Faith without works is dead. Dead faith will not save. This means a fruitful relationship with Christ is necessary. John 15 and Romans 6 display this greater. Orthodox nor Catholics believe works will save. Hence titus 3 4. However Titus 3 4 does not excuse a living faith. It shows we are saved by grace. But as Christ told us we are to carry our cross daily. We also don't believe dead faith will either. Hence why we must have a true and living faith to be saved.

@@Sixpenny2480 If you and orthodox believe that works do not save then why can you not say that you would go to Heaven if you died right now? Because your works are not finished, that's why. GOD indwells a person (baptism by the HOLY SPIRIT) making them HIS habitation/temple sanctifying and justifying them for the forgiveness of all sins by HIS grace through the faith HE gives. Why are works necessary? Doesn't GOD know whom HE saves? Why does HE need evidence. 2 Timothy 2:19 KJV "Nevertheless the foundation of GOD stands sure, having this seal, The LORD knows them that are HIS. And, Let every one that names the name of CHRIST depart from iniquity." Romans 8:9 KJV "But you are not in the flesh, but in the SPIRIT, if so be that the SPIRIT of GOD dwell in you. AGAIN, where would you go if you died right now? As a catholic and orthodox you cannot say because you deny CHRIST because you do not believe you are forgiven of all sin through HIS real blood shed on the cross for all sins once for all. If GOD indwells a person, they can't help but have fruit. James was merely saying an apple tree should have apples. He is not talking to true believers but to false confessors whoever they may be (See the parable of the Sower).

@jacktracy8356 Surrounding Salvation I am saved being saved and hope to be saved. We are working out our salvation with fear and trembling Phil 2 12. I do not hold to OSAS. We can lose salvation Heb 6 4 to 6, Heb 10 26 to 29, Gal 5 1 to 4 etc. I also noticed the Calvanist undertone am I sensing TULIP. We can't help but have fruits. Is that irresistible grace? Sensing double predestination as well. Now for the next part Why are works necessary John 15 2 He cuts of every branch in me that bears no fruit. Now remember we are saved by Baptism of water and spirit too John 3 5. So we can immediately see there is more to salvation than making sound professions of faith. James is discussing those who claim to be Christian but have no fruit or evidence within their lives. Dead faith is real which is why James 2 24 you see a person is justified by works and not faith alone. Interestingly the only place I scripture that says Faith alone. It aligns with Eph 2 10 made unto good works. Gal 5 6 all that matters is faith expressed through love. " So as a tree is known by its fruit so should a Christian be. Being a Christian is more than making sound professions of faith" Ignatius of Antioch disciple to John the revelator. So my question to you is this. Will faith without fruits save? Dead faith?

with all due respect to Mar Mari Emmanuel, I must add something here. Martin Luther discovered in God's Word the justification of the ungodly by faith alone. This faith is a gift of grace and does not come from the free will of man. he rediscovered the biblical doctrine and that this explanation has old papers. Augustine also learned this.

I don’t know if anybody has heard of them but I have been leaning more towards orthodoxy but am hearing that some things are similar can someone who knows more about orthodoxy than I help me on this matter I want to serve God as best I can. Christianity is not religion but it is relationship with heavenly father . Denomination can't take anyone to heaven everyone who is born of flesh physical mother and father should be born again John 3 3 . We should become children. Of God John 1.12 There is no such word in bible Catholic orthodox protestant we are all born Adam and eve and we r all sinners unless gospel is preached nobody can't repent . Of their sins. Martin Luther read the Holy Bible. Thats it. Only Christ saves; church or bishop is not the saviour. The church is just a place of gathering of believers. No need to cry Luther should have come to orthodoxy, where unbiblical teachings and traditions are still followed. 95 Theses of him are pointed questions towards orthodoxy as well.

Grew up Lutheran; the son of a Lutheran pastor. Began studies to become a Lutheran lay minister in my 30's. Converted to the Russian Orthodox Church shortly after. I am now 63 years old. I have survived 2 strokes, a failed heart, and a brief moment of death by COVID. I have no God but the Holy Trinity. Jesus Christ is my Savior. No Pope. No Patriarch. No Bishop. Only Jesus. Luther knew about the Orthodox, but in those days you did not just hop on a jet to Moscow. I would still be Lutheran if there were any real Lutherans left. Nearly all Lutheran denominations today have been infected by some traces of Calvinism.

If any person is confused about the Christian faith they should read the writings of Italian mystic Maria Valtorta who wrote thousands of pages whist disabled and confined to bed. She was given a first hand look at the life of Jesus and Mary with the writings providing a better understanding of what Jesus said and taught. Jesus even makes comments of what Maria saw and explains what was meant rather what can be read in the Bible which was mistaken.

Protestants believe they can say sola scriptura but make newcomers say a cute lil sinner prayer that isn’t scripture and then do nothing at all that the Bible says no fasting prayer baptism nothing keep on sinning as long as you believe you’re good… murder 6000 ppl SA 250,000 women n kids who cares you said a prayer and said you believe… Protestantism is a man made doctrine both orthodoxy n Catholicism hold a the some doctrine(except pope) handed down from generation to generation via apostolic succession ensuring that the truth remains. Until Martin Luther came around as a failed Augustinian monk who couldn’t stop fornicating with nuns til he knocked one up and got defrocked and was forced to marry her, instead of owning his son and broken oath to god blamed the church for his sins and not letting him marry, found a whole bunch of minuscule points of belief Catholics held and wrote about how bad they were. So made his own church in his image to elevate himself to the level of Pope named it for himself not Christ. Censored the Septuagint used since before Jesus that our lord learned and spoke from followed the Jews to the moseretic text fabricated a never occurring council of jammin to proclaim legitimacy for using it idk why he’d follow Jews instead of Christ but that’s his issue. Why did he do it? Didn’t like purgatory or its idea. Attempted to remove James and Jude calling them epistles of straw. Saying “I’d never have them in “MY” bible” he said MY Bible not Christs or Christianity’s or Gods just his…. But those that left with him threatened to leave him if he took that route. He created an entirely new doctrine with no authority or reason to do so besides vanity ego n pride. Sola scriptura but wanted James gone because it hurt his narrative speaking of the importance of works. Sola Scriptura but had to add the words “Faith Alone” to Roman’s in order to quote “make Paul’s message more clear” 😂😂😂 instead of 1 pope there’s and 1 unified church there’s 45k insignificant popes or councils/boards of popes leading the people astray

I do want to point out as a Catholic, that Luther didn’t just want reform, he straight up was teaching new doctrines that were never apart of Christianity and had no basis in the Bible (sola scriptura) and even made changes to the Bible in order for it to fit his interpretation. He also removed scripture from the Bible, and even considered doing the same to some New Testament books. It always annoys me when people say he was just protesting when he was also teaching false doctrines and against church doctrine.
