I always wanted the Singleton volumes, both text and commentaries - you would find one or other haphazardly at Krochs and Brentanos, but in those days the price would have been out of reach, so I satisfied myself with the Sinclair books. It’s a shame to hear that the commentaries (which I’ve never seen) will be going down the memory hole. If I were to reread Dante I would like the Singleton, and the new edition sounds nice, but I need the Italian facing, which I assume will not be there. (I think originally it would have taken six volumes - in all my life I’ve seen at best two or three of them.)
