Normally, I'd be bummed that a midcentury modern house was demolished for a new project, but this is a super thoughtful, interesting, beautiful house! Very warm and detailed. Not just another Hollywood Hills modern box. Really striking exterior architecture and interior spaces.

exceptionally well done. The interior language is spoken so eloquently and on point with what I assume is the owners personality. Your ability to maintain such intimate scale within a larger home is to be commended. Each space feels as if it could live on its own, and exist well in either a 2,000SF house or 20,000SF. Thats hard to do. Your use of soft fabrics and intimate details within a strong and masculine structure is wonderful. It's a perfect mix of feminine and masculine energies blended into one. I cannot imagine how wonderful the house must be for entertaining. Or, just relaxing alone. Congratulations. It is truly spectacular!

woooowwww. i'm definitely going to have to go back and watch this one several times over. some of those cinematography captures!! incredible. my only "con," and it's just not my style for video editing, is that there were so many scenes so it's hard to appreciate each one deeply, especially since there's so much to take in in many of the scenes. therefore, my reasoning for going back to rewatch many times. that said, this house has sooooo much interest, which I think is wonderful! fun, yet orderly. very well thought out and heavy on details, yet doesn't feel too busy or overwhelming. not quitee my style, a little too much modern furniture, but suchhh a delight to view and i'm sure an exceptional experience in person. the bravo!!!

Despite being well integrated with nature, it has an expressive excess of straight lines that suffocate the simplest beauty.

I really wanted to hate this house for demolishing that great-looking modernist one. And the mixing of the mid-century elements and black timber of Japanese influence and stone on the ground level, all of that mishmash but somehow I still liked it. It helps that it's a huge house with 3 levels, so the 3 different styles are not on the same plain to clash with its each other and interior design was top notch, and the vistas and the grass rooftop with the firepit and the glass pavilion were well-executed. Somehow it came together...

This is one of the most successful renovation I've ever seen. The way the architect make sure to kept most part of the original house and still achieve this it's amazing. And I'm pretty sure this and the palm sprigs one are for the same owner. This is an incredible house. I love this🧡🤍🖤

Why design a house so big? It’s clearly not sustainable. I feel that it’s irresponsible. The planet clearly can’t support some people’s decadence. I love good architecture, but it definitely needs to be done in a sustainable and responsible way.

Obviously a great house, although in my view a sacrilege to destroy the iconic original design of the mid-century house.
@lazlo25112 ай бұрын
..why so rushed? Difficult to understand the design language when you flickering into each picture frame? This doesn’t even look like a home? How did this get labelled, part of the environment? Another lemon in my book unfortunately.

@apr8882 ай бұрын
Rubbish editing: this moving scene then sudden cut to another moving scene is nauseating. If you really insist on this snippet presentation style, then pause/still the scene for at least 3 seconds before you transition to the next moving scene.

The scenes are literally about 3 seconds, what are you on about. Also you need to realize that this is a garganuent sized home that's crammed into 7 mins of footage. Lot of ground to cover

This home will crack in an earthquake or wild fire. Please show homes in stable, disaster-free areas of the US.
@jamesdellaneve90052 ай бұрын
Not if you design it properly. I designed my own house in SoCal. It’s expensive to do the earthquake regulations, but the concept works. The house is essentially sitting on top of a 6 foot compacted ground. The house floats on top of this compressed block of ground like it’s riding on a block of concrete.

The original house was better. Especially the design of the original windows.

Less North American content please. There's already countless outlets to explore projects in LA and NY. What drew me and others to this channel and your publication was the focus on Antipodean architects, designers, projects, inspiration and lifestyle. If you must branch out can you at least keep it in the Southern Hemisphere? Mayne Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Southern Africa, Fiji, Indonesia? If you need to cross the equator perhaps Japan? Some of us look so forward to the release of your videos.. Brewing a fresh cup of coffee in the excitement of taking in a new video only to open it up and see it feature a home in the hills of LA is extremely disappointing.
