Oracle of the Roses, I trimmed the gilding off which made the deck a more manageable size and I love mine ❤

That’s a very sensible idea, but my gremlin brain would struggle to give up the shiny raspberry edges haha

@@SaplingTarot I edged mine in green, it’s much softer. I understand blingie edging is fabulous!! 💞🤣

@chaneldays There seems to be quite a few of us in the tarot community, which I suppose makes sense for a relaxing/introspective hobby that can be done from anywhere including being tucked up in bed. Herbcrafters is such a lovely and peaceful deck, it’s fast becoming a favourite of mine too. Thanks for making these tags, I love watching everyone’s VRs and it was so much fun to join in!

I've been eyeing the Gay Marseille so hard. I also want the guidebook, and I still want to read Radical Tarot. So I want to save up for it... I've also been finding that I personify my decks a little. Like enough that I will speak to their spirit or something... I find that speaking to them yields the best results. Funny you mention ancestor work with Herbcrafter's Tarot. I've been wanting that deck for a while and then I see the cacao and the marigold cards and feel even more compelled. My family is Mexican and I always try my best to incorporate the traditions of my culture into my practice (The best I can at least, language barrier and not wanting to be involved in Catholicism permitting). I think plants and nature are just kind of The way to connect to ancestors, they have always been here and will continue to be here through every generation. I wonder if the "time" ancestors was about "community" ancestors, like your queer elders? At least that's what I'm looking to work with eventually.

@EclecticPupil It’s such a gorgeous deck, I can’t wait to really crack into it! I think they do a bundle with the deck and book and also radical tarot and the fifth spirit tarot on their web shop which can save a few dollars but yeh they’re all good things to save up for! I think personifying decks is a natural part of the process haha, especially if you view the world through an animistic lens, it can feel much more working with or talking to your decks like friends rather than using them just like tools. I think you’re absolutely spot on, it makes so much sense that plants in general, would be the way to connect to any ancestor. But I also think that if your particular family history is more closely related to the specific plants in the deck it would be even more powerful, every time I see the pachamama, cacao and the marigold cards I’m always struck by the energy and I can only imagine how potent that would be if you had existing personal relationships with them. I think in the book, the author is speaking about the idea of past lives, but I think I like your idea better! Especially during pride season / disability pride season those are the ancestors that I’d like to honour the most.
