Actually, it's nice to find a reviewer who just enjoys watching movies for the entertainment value. There are far too many ex-film school types doing reviews on here who spent too much time pointing out where the filmmakers are doing it wrong. If they know so much, why aren't they directing movies instead of making youtube videos? (well, some of them have and they're bloody awful ) Personally, I think it boils down to an adaption of an old adage: Those who can, do. Those who can't review! If I wanted to hear someone tell me how real filmmakers got it wrong, I'd record myself (as a film school graduate) doing it. And I even worked in the industry for a while! (I left to study art and animation and am now much happier drawing and making films just to entertain myself. It's so much more gratifying).

I love this movie. It reminds me of Hot Fuzz and A Knights Tale. The generation of films inspired by Quentin Tarantino use violence even more casually, and it's even more effective. I also love the exploration of old stories using new tropes, like music or in this case humor. I am known to love mediocre movies and books, I'm not ashamed; I have gotten better at recommending the actually good stuff to other people though.

The Old West was actually more relatively civilized than today's world. 3:08 That wouldn't happen. A real bottle would remain intact and would likely cause blunt impact trauma comparable to a hammer. If the bottle did break, well, the "dude" (which we can assume that guy is actually NOT going by the definition of the term in that era) getting hit probably wouldn't know the difference because he'd be out cold either way. Since the bottle broke, it's puzzling how his face didn't sustain any gashes. 4:17 I have to make two points here. One: He should be aiming with both eyes open. And two: That revolver is a Webley Mk.VI, a top-break double-action British classic that's totally anachronistic to the setting. This is the early 1880s and that revolver wasn't produced until the nineteen-teens. That said, a double-action revolver in an era when single-actions reigned supreme would have given the user a major tactical (and tactile) advantage. 4:27 Six-shooters were loaded with five rounds back then. One chamber was left empty for safety's sake because of the way revolver hammers were designed back then. It wasn't until the mid 20th century that Ruger figured out how to make single-action revolvers with hammers that operated in such a way that you could load all chambers safely. *Note:* There's a video where Hickok45 demonstrates how to do a proper "cowboy load" with an old-school single-action revolver. 4:34 Obviously, she's got a skill point in her "One fer Each of Ya" perk. Either that or she's just naturally a Gunzerker. Plus, akimbo Webleys scores major style points. *Note:* White-label Jakobs revolvers in Borderlands 2 and 'The Pre-Sequel' are top-break like a Webley, but they're also single-action, and that makes them more like a Schofield (which is a top-break single-action revolver made by Smith & Wesson). 4:56 The recommended technique is a two-handed cross-thumb grip. The cross-thumb grip is only useful with single-action revolvers or when firing double-action revolvers in a single-action style (which is something that's only done while target shooting). With a cross-thumb grip, it isn't necessary to wrap the thumb of the support hand all the way over the thumb of the shooting hand. It's better to simply rest the thumb of the support hand next to the hammer. 4:59 Loading all six chambers would be acceptable for target shooting. For general carry in a holster, though, one chamber would be left empty for reasons aforementioned. 5:23 According to my research, exhibition shooters actually did use that "fan the hammer" technique, but their revolvers were specifically customized to be handled that way. That technique would never have been used in any serious combat or defense scenario. 5:58 He basically plays himself in every movie he's in. Did you ever see House 2: The Second Story? He was in that and, as per typical, basically played his own d-bag self. 7:10 Seth McFarlane has a habit of referencing pop culture without context. This is 1882, not 1885. Plus, Doc Brown wouldn't have stashed the DeLorean in such an obvious location. 11:26 You don't have to be Mordecai to be good with the Pestilent Defiler. 12:39 A foppish dandy like that, in that time and place, would have been seen as a "dude" (aka "cityslicker").

I walked out of the theater on this movie right after Seth MacFarlane said the line "I'm going to shoot a full load at your cans." I just couldn't handle all the ridiculously unfunny jokes and the out of place excessive sweating. (Don't get me wrong, I like swearing, but in this movie the swearing doesnt empathize the sentence, the curse words feel really out of place and add nothing to the scene.

Even Liam Neeson's Irish accent was a joke. Because he tries (badly) to hide his accent in roles, he agreed to play the part of Clinch only on the condition that he could use his own accent. In an interview, he had remarked that this was because an episode of Family Guy had made a joke about him playing a cowboy with an Irish accent.
