I think this was a good pick for them to watch 1: its a comedy that that doesn't require knowledge of a ton of American cultural references 2: actually does a little bit of a job at being educational about the west in the 1800s

Godzilla Minus One doesn't stream or has a good pirated version yet. This is due to a contract deal that doesn't allow. The Japanese studio to publish while a monsterverse movie is in theater. They're two great movies though. Albeit that I would prefer King Kong (2005) as the monster movie to start with.

This movie was poorly reviewed and didn’t do well at the box office. I’m not sure why you chose to show them this with several classics still unseen. Even many of the things this movie references come if ally they won’t be aware of because they haven’t seen what they are referencing.

It works. Most of the movie is slapstick and they haven't seen any Westerners other than Django unchained. But yeah the movie itself isn't great.

@@Trazynn movies like this have a young male targeted audience. so its a good choice. plus seth's character explains how the west worked a lot while tying it in with jokes. so it ends up being a bit educational about the west too.

Yeah indeed, not every movie they watch has to be profound. Though I do think The Revenant (2015) would be a great one to show them now.
