Facial capture is hard, time consuming, and budget consuming. Plus, i don't think adding any blockhead characters gonna leave an impression like real human navigating it unless they keeps changing the camera from in-game to real life player behind the PC like Ready Player One or Free Guy. The current direction is good enough even though it feels like Jumanji but in my opinion, Minecraft is soulless without humans in it, It feels too much NPC-ness.
