Horizon uses a cumulative addiction system, where you accumulate them by using related items etc. and when you have high enough level for one to trigger, you get the actual affliction. That's why you had curable "addiction" as a status, despite not having one in your status, as you were partway towards alcoholism.

that mine you were expecting to find on the stairs inside the screen at the drive-in is probably in the grass across the road -- it's got a few different initial spawn locations, same as the bottlecap mine.

You mentioned needing adhesive while trading with Carla. The only merchants that sell adhesive in horizon are doctors, of course that includes doctors in your settlements, so you want to have a few doctors so you can buy adhesive each trading cycle.

The synths spawn, afaik, only after you head down there, and come back, or I might be mixing it with another area, but I'm pretty sure thats how it is there.

Agreed. I think the Fallout 76 music in particular isn't as well balanced as the other music is, since I've modded that in. I lowered the volume on the music twice now. I might be able to import that music in particular into Audition and lower the gain a bit... lot of work though.
