Boss only few zombies are spawning why? Java btw (1.20) And they spawn if i afk above 11 blocks bruh

Hi I have a question do the skeletons have to be one hit if so do is there a way to do it without souls sand? I’m in hardcore and found a very surface level skeleton spawner and don’t want to go caving😢

Falling onto dripstone makes mobs and players take damage. Then they are 1-hit

While I was making this farm a creeper fell of the zombie spawner I had from the roof ( the zombie spawner was in a raveen ) and blew it up.😭

Apparently, they don't spawn at all when I did everything like you so I modified it so that I stand 1 block higher and now they do spawn, it's a very good tutorial nonetheless.
