The ruby was replaced by emeralds because it was confused as redstone and if someone is colourblind it is hard to identify it

I don't think being colorblind would make much of a difference in this situation, they clearly have different shapes and there's other current items that look waaay more like redstone, such as glowstone dust. Not to mention iron armor and diamond armor are nearly identical to green/red colorblind people.

​@@entavulp7598 Beds and Bookshelves both have functions outside of decoration, though. Beds are extremely important since they're respawn points, and allow you to skip nighttime and thunderstorms. Bookshelves are used with Enchanting Tables, though that's not a very high bar in terms of functionality.
