Thank you for posting this videos! (about secma), the car is fun and that can be seen by the way you drive it and proudly show it!

Great car, I'm so sad because I sold my Secma in July... I hope you'll enjoy this Xtre'm along years.

@MrVideoRater1 For me it will always big fun due to the funny remarks you get and the kids that adore it (i was a teacher). Anyway ...if somebody has one too in your neighborhood, it makes a special bond. To me it were the butterflydoors that made it special, handy and which gave the most "thumbs up" from viewers in the street.

i hope they export this car to north america....soon that is. we need this car more than ever before

I understand your feeling. I was able to exchange my Secma for a Smart Diesel. I am glad I didn't do it. This car may not be better than the Smart, but ... it is more fun. Yihaaaaa! Also it gives a good possibility to place promotionstickers. Soon I will design them. They will not pass by unnoticed!!!! Whahaaaa!

Rideable with motorcycle license depends on your country laws. Here in Belgium you need car-license. Topspeed is 115 km/h
@nestofdragons14 жыл бұрын
Sometimes my daughter was filming, sometimes I held it in my hand while riding, but mostly all was filmed by one of those handy cameras you can fix to a helmet and so. I fixed it to the rollbar and even on top of the frontlight. ;)

Thanks for your quick reply. I was referring to the engine actually. Can it endure this kind of travel(its a stupid question maybe LOL)

is it possible to drive one of these on a motorcycle license. and what is the fastest it could be supped up to.
@nestofdragons16 жыл бұрын
The Belgian Importer told me it is highway-legal. I drive on the highway nearly daily. Never had problems. I drive the same speed as the trucks. And yes ... sometimes cars start to ride weird once they have seen me. Haha.

@tmcdon4ld collision tests ??? Why? It is NOT a car, it is a motorcycle on four wheels ...with a roof as option. Secma already made in the past a reserve trike. My consumption of my Secma is 43 US mpg. I know that recent cars are better, but ...remember that this is a fun car.
@nestofdragons11 жыл бұрын
The engine took loong rides. The only problem i had was the first generation gearbox. Seems that the second one doesn't give the same troubles anymore. So ...from #01 to #100 are generation 1, i was told.
@tmcdon4ld13 жыл бұрын
I wish we could get these in the U.S. but supposedly they will never pass the head on collision tests. If I want a vehicle of this class it has to be a trike or kit build. I also wish Secma made a trike. What kind of gas mileage does yours get?

In Belgium we are not so acquainted with that kind of signal. We only use the peace sign, we think.
@nestofdragons15 жыл бұрын
yes, it is. 500 cc.

@iamthecomplain It is not intented as a first car. More like a toy for big boys. ;) The reason for the high proce is the low-production amount. :(

@ZEDROGANA i saw the kids face. He was really impressed. In Belgium we don't use the V for f*ck off. So ...i am 100% sure it was a peace sign he made. :)

You don't get wet in a Datsun 280z or 300z either when its raining and the T tops are off, as long as you maintain highway-ish speed. What kind of gas mileage are you getting? I get 55 - 65 mpg on my Honda Rebel depending on air temperature, driving speed, etc... I took my family to see this microcar museum, not too far from me, before it closed and sold all its cars: microcarmuseum.com/virtualtour.html

Microcars!!! I liiike them. I cannot recall the fuel consumption of that car. Sold it several years ago. I like the Messerschmitt TG500 a lot. Sad to hear they are selling all the cars.
@choppergirl8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, me too. I wanted to build my own, with a fiberglass body. Instead, I built a go-cart for some kids. They had a lot of fun with it. My dad tried to build his own car twice, and kind of failed both times. The last one, he rain the radiator coolant through the pipes of the frame of the car (which I thought was a very bad idea! rust!). All those microcars in the museum, the Bubble Gum Empire inheritor auctioned off. Most of them he bought from Europe of course, as they made after WW2 when materials were at a premium. It made me mad that he sold them, because he promised the old people that if they sold him their prescious family treasure little car, it would forever have a safe home in a museum and better life. You see him doing this in his early videos talking to these people out of their microcars, who don't really want to sell. And then 10-20 years later, he sells them all of to whoever bids the highest, for whatever reason. Maybe he had legitimate reason, like that he couldn't afford the museum any more, and the bubble gum business went bad, but from the looks of it, I think he was profiteering and making a huge profit after restoring them, because he used an auction and that inflates the prices for the buyers to crazy levels here. Here in America, you sometimes, super rarely, see a Tata Nano, or a British "Mini" and that's it. I once briefly owned a 1978 MG Midget "rubber bumper"... 50 mpg. I can't fit into them any more, my legs are too long. I loved that little car, very sexy, and convertible! Fly safe!

Safe is relative here. I am sure it is safer than riding a motorbike. But less safe as a car. If you hit something fast up front you loose your legs, I fear. Like in all small buggies.

25 liters fuel and topspeed of 110-115 km/h.

All you need to do is use the full of the back of the seat. So ...get your buttocks in that rear part of the seat. The ergonomics of the car is good enough for long rides ...when you have my body size. I made longer trips too when i had it. Never had a problem.
@nestofdragons16 жыл бұрын
Sorry, in that case I would not consider the Secma as a good vehicle for your disability. The seat are rather hard (cushion is just 1 inch thick!) and the suspension is really hard. You feel the bumps HARD. But for me that is fun, for you ... torture, I guess. :(

Lol no, I don't fear gays. I actually live in montreal where there are tons of gays. You're right I should not use the word gay to say that something sucks. It is just that actually this kind of techno/dance music makes me think of huge gay rave partys. I just don't like the song. But nice car man !
