Yes cause we all know that isolating people and animals is good for their health. So sad. At least we know some of us are enjoying thoroughly the opposite. Beautiful babies and they are very happy with all that you do for them. It shows.

This is just so much fun to watch. I’d never get any work done. I love the smell of horses and it’s been years since I’ve touched one but the super velvety feel of their nose/ mouth area is unbelievable soft. I miss that.

Don’t listen to fools who think a horse alone could possibly be happy. They’re HERD animals! That means they enjoy a plural existence. Thank you & God bless you for taking the time to not only care for these beautiful creatures but to really come to understand them. ❤️👍🏼🐎

It's always such a delight to watch them interacting! Although looking similar, it's always different and interesting. Each horseplay brings a new experience. I noticed through all your videos that in each playtime, when a pair of horses forms, co- grooms and plays, they remain together till the end, most of the time. The dynamics change on each video. Thank you for sharing such a learning experience on horse's behavior.

Many of your videos illustrate how so much of a horses experience of the world is through the mouth and upper lip thingy. I’m forgetting the term for that. Snout? Luke definitely is a very unique horse and a delight to watch. I agree with you about keeping horses alone. I find it very depressing when I see horses living a solitary life

lol. oh Luke...HE really is a character❤ Gracie has come a long way, she is too much. such personalities! lol... Would you sell Luke shirts? I would buy one😊
One of my deepest regrets was when we got our last dog (at the pound) we didn't get her mom, too. Maggie was one of 13 puppies. Found roaming the streets. Mags was the last of the litter to be picked. LOL I think it was because she was naughty and snippy. While waiting for my husband and daughter to finish the paperwork Maggie and I were in another room. Mags snipped at me and ran around chewing on cords etc. I swooped her up, told her that would be the end of that stuff, gently rolled her into my arms and onto her back. I gently held her until she relaxed completely. She never again chewed on anything or snipped at people. She was a lovely dog. Her mom would have appreciated our home. My horses always had companions. The sweetest and feistiest were my Shetland and my dad's cattle horse. They were the leaders of our little herd. I never got tired of just watching them as a herd.

Every horse needs a companion horse. They were created to be in a herd, small or large, and I think it’s actually cruel to prevent that from happening.
@GodisTruth9142 жыл бұрын
Exactly!! A horse is made to be in a herd. Left all alone is cruel.
@pennywebb8672 жыл бұрын
I agree completely, even more so as I watch the emotional growth of each horse in Graeme's herd!
@kkdoc78642 жыл бұрын
@@pennywebb867 Gracie is a prime example of how being with other horses can reshape “attitudes”. She was alone for the first 4 years of her life (as you know) without any clue as to how to behave in a herd. Apparently, (at least with Gracie), it can take a long time for horses to learn how to be herd members if they’re introduced to the experience later in life. But I’m just guessing. Because Gracie has come such a long way,, I’m assuming it’s true with all horses.

My first horse when I was a kid was an “only”. I was lucky to get my dad to buy me ONE. I feel bad about that now ( didn’t know enough at the time to realize horses are better off with friends). I did spend all my time with her. But what can someone do for their only horses. (No “horse parks” available like a dog park). Not everyone can have more than one. Is there a remedy or should people just not have a horse unless they can get more than one.

Its lovely to watch your videos. Gives me a whole new perspective, even though ive loved them all my life. By no means a criticism, but could you tell me if they ever run free on green grass rather than sand?
@StableHorseTraining2 жыл бұрын
They do not as we don't have that here. I know it may seem counter intuitive, but the sand and gravel is far better for their feet. Think of the horses that live out on the plains and deserts of mid america. The horses that live on grass have the weakest and most deformed feet as they don't have hard ground pushing back up on them. It's a long thing to explain maybe...
@BewleyBooks2 жыл бұрын
@@StableHorseTraining That's interesting, never thought about that before. That's a good point. As long as they have good feed other than grass I can see that would be a good thing. Thanks for answering as I know how busy you are from the amount of comments you get best. K

Gracie's mouth full of hair inspires a question - do horses get hair balls? I I understand that horses cannot vomit. Does the hair they eat from grooming stay in their digestive tracts, or do they pass it?
@StableHorseTraining2 жыл бұрын
I don't believe they do

Did you see how carefully Gracie was nibbling underneath Lena's mane? And Lena reciprocating. Now that is good co-grooming. Not so good co-grooming is when you leave your pretty ponies together, and the next day, your pony has had half his mane hogged! Oopsie? Either grooming method though probably means you have contented ponies, which of course, is everything.

Well.. sometimes my horses are missing part of their manes too! It happens here :) just not this time
