Catholic here. I went to a ROCOR divine liturgy yesterday. It was like the priest could read my mind because he outright acknowledged that we have to listen closely to the sung words and that there’s no way to read along. I appreciated how he emphasized only those who confessed their sins were to receive communion. They said “forgive us our debts” and “our debtors” instead of “our trespasses” and “those who trespass against us”.

The use of "debts" is merely a derivation of the KJV translation. I have an orthodox prayer book that uses debtors.

I was baptized last year, this is very helpful. I am often concerned that I am not doing enough, I need to relax a little and take a longer view of things.

I think this provides some very good contextualization for inquirers/catechumens/newly illumined that once you are received into the church, that is the start of the journey which will take a lifetime

I showed my Protestant mother your video on why you became orthodox, I would be interested in seeing you delve into a defense of traditional worship and iconography

I have a video addressing the worship issue coming out in about a month, though I'd highly recommend the book "Orthodox Worship" by Benjamin Williams & Harold Anstall, as well as this video for more: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJzQmWluqtd8bKMsi=hPvn66VxCbP4F4O1 I haven't covered icons in-depth yet, but this video has seemed sufficient in my experience: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIHMaKObl8Sjgdksi=o_OXYN43cZvvYQCM

I am trying to find where I can serve in my parish since converting on Dec 24,2024. I should speak my Father confessor.

@@YannisH There will be more from this interview to be released in the next month which will address the topic of vocation. Though as Fr. Gabriel advised in this video, focus on the basics for the first couple of years to ensure you have a strong foundation! Vocation will come naturally later.

Ive been christmated for almost a year now. The struggle is real. This isn't a happy path. My life and life circumstances have gotten worse since becoming orthodox. I know it's for a reason but it's hard to see why now.
