What is a mortgage survey ?
A mortgage survey is different from a valuation because the duty of care is for the buyer and not the lender.
This gives you the possibility of recourse if something that you should have been warned about and weren't happens.
Depending on the survey chosen, the survey report will provide varying degrees of completeness on the condition and structural integrity of the property.
Using a traffic light system, it will also give an indication to what and where future issues will arise with recommendations for the new owner if you decide to purchase the property after the survey is completed.
The types of surveys you can choose from are a condition report, homebuyers report and a full building survey.
