(Revised) Line of Sight Video of A Most Fearful Sacrifice, a game designed by Hermann Luttmann, published by Flying Pig Games in 2022.
Here's the link to the game's Rulebook at Flying Pig's website:

NOTE: This revised video substitutes a very pixelated image I used in the original video for a decent one, and also corrects a mistake I made in the information in the game credits. KZbin doesn't allow substitution of videos, consequently, this video replacing the original one means that the original video will be deleted and the comments on original video will be lost. Such is life. Cheers!
WARNING: War games simulate armed conflict and violence, destruction and death associated to such events. At times, the games and videos include references to nefarious figures, such as Attila the Hun, Adolf Hitler, Mao Zedong, Idi Amin Dada and others. Viewer discretion is advised.

Thanks, finally got around to watching it and must say I really enjoyed it - really like how streamlined the usually complex LoS rules are in this one😁

The only interesting thing about the Civil War is how the South managed to fight for four years when the North had a 4-1 superiority in manpower 10-1 superiority in naval 10-1 superioirity in RR capacity and industry. A much more interesting time period for wargamers is Napoleonics that had everything the Civil War had except RR

It is truly remarkable that the South did so much with very little in terms of manpower and industrial might. I always like playing the underdog in wargames, that's why I usually like playing the rebels in Civil War strategic games. Cheers!

@@StukaJoe That being said, an excellent video on this game, a beautiful mapboard and as always presented by you excellently. One thing that is wrong with this particular game is They use "demi-brigades" which is a fictitious 17th century French term and has no place in CIvil War games.

@vortyx I believe that the intent of using units which are smaller than brigades, but larger than regiments, is to give the game a regimental scale feel. Otherwise, each brigade would only have one counter and you wouldn't have things in the game such as unit support provided by another unit in the same brigade. The game cleverly models cohesion without needing a host of informational markers. I will talk about it in the upcoming example of play video. Cheers!

@@StukaJoe Aah I see Joseph. I don't own the game myself but my friend Harry who is a Military history buff and wargamer told me about Demi-brigades.

That's one way to look at it. The other is that the South started a war when the North was completely and totally unprepared. It took time for the North to gain its war footing and then they fought on the home ground of the South. I'm more amazed that it ended so soon - 4 years isn't very long all things considered.
