Same. My grandfather served on B25 bombers. Survived 2 plane crashes on them. One of Norway. Another over the North Sea. If he had died I wouldn't be here. He was responsible for over a dozen bombing missions. Including the reich bridge in Germany. His 2nd plane crash everyone on board died but him. A French red cross ship pulled him from the sea. Those boys were only 18 years old when they were flying in those tin cans. Very cold. Alot of things would go wrong. Parts would freeze. I have his diaries somewhere. 2 purple hearts. Very interesting

He was in a real bad way by the time he killed himself in the so-called Fuhrerbunker: if you watch footage of him meeting soldiers in the days before Germany's final collapse, you'll see him looking really awful and frail. Syphilis has been proposed as a possible condition, but the one that seems to me to be more likely is Parkinson's Disease.
