Just replaced these for my glass lift for $20 a pair and tailgate lifts for $14 a pair through eBay for my 02 ZR2 blazer, they work extremely well, that support is perfect for the tailgates👍

This is pretty cool. I was wondering if having the shock on one side puts any extra stress on the plastic bushing on the right hinge of the tailgate? You replaced the hinges so perhaps that isn't a problem for you anymore. thanks.

Why not use the same thing the new tailgate uses?

@@davidblagg2576 if I’m correct it’s built into the tailgates. The older trucks like these don’t have the room to accommodate that system. I’m sure you could get it to work but it would be a lot of time and money in fabrication.

Does it lighten the tailgate to make closing easier? My old 93 F250 tailgate weighs as much as the entire bed dead on my Tundra

It made mine a little bit heavier due to the resistance of the cylinder..

My tailgate rattles while I drive..would this help with the noise also?

There are rubber stops that are there from the factory that stop that. Yours probably came off making it rattle
