With all the renos I've been making in the shop, this 'accessory' will be a big help for me!!
As I am laying out and cutting face frames for the bench drawers, it's vitally important that the measurements be accurate and precise. I was finding with the traditional 'carpenter's' pencil, or even a regular pencil, that the marks were broad and wide.
That makes it hard to get precise cuts because where do you cut? Do you cut to the line or on the line? And even then the line was so wide, sometimes up to 1/16”, it was hard to make layout lines as the 'error' in measurement would grow with each succeeding mark that was made.
To try and address that, and we all know I surely need help with making precise cuts, I saw a video where this guy was using these markers. I was curious so I checked them out closer. I found out these were 'carpenters markers' and were available on Amazon.
So I did like most anyone would do, I ordered a set of complete carpenter's markers. They were $20 and I figured I couldn't go wrong.
Here is a the Amazon Affiliate Link for the Carpenter's Markers:

I was totally impressed with these markers. The quality is there. There is lots of spare leads. The leads are nice and think and should stand up to the tortures of my style of woodworking. There are black, red and yellow coloured leads too so lots of variety for laying out special cuts and dimensions.
I have been using these markers now for over a week and I have no issues or complaints at all. Well OK; maybe one little complaint., the clip on the mechanical pencil is sometimes hard to get clipped on my apron pocket!! LOL
They are Grampie's Workshop Approved for sure!!
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the video. Please 'thumbs up' me and leave me some comments. And if you haven't done so already, please consider 'subscribing' to my channel. It sure helps my videos get noticed and my channel grow.
I hope you all have a great week.
We'll talk to yas ...
