I found the same fan on ebay. Had to wait 3 weeks to get it from China though. I have been using it on my round kerosene heater. Makes a huge difference in how fast my garage heaters up. I have to make sure it is pulling in cool air and blowing it over top of heater. Otherwise it will overheat. Good idea for using it on the buddy heater.

Easy to use right out the box kzbin.infoUgkxAvrAfikbUEMthp3AZ6iX5FKdiHfzy_RP . Next step is to get a heat activated fan to move the heat. I'm impressed by how long it can go on 1 lbs of propane at the low setting which lasted more than 6hrs. You'll have to adjust it lower than the low setting. Used for personal heating at 30° to 50° at low setting in an open garage, it's quite comfortable. It would warm up a good size single car garage if its closed off.

Just hooked up our Mr Buddy that is a max of 18,000 BTU. We are using it to heat one end of the house. We have a long ranch home and our fireplace is on one end so the heat doesn’t get all the way to the other end. Our furnace went out this morning and its in the teens at night. No tech till tomorrow who knows when. We have tons of propane but only two half full small green cylinders. One of those lasted 4 hours on medium which is amazing. We will be buying another of the same heater and a convection fan. Thanks for the great demo!!!

So.....I bought the exact little fan for my Heater Buddy. Before this, I was using a small usb charged fan. First of all, it made a slight noise and had a light on it. Second, who wants to charge it or plug it into something? Y’all get it. We just camped and the temps went into the single digits with high winds. I knew I’d be warm in my 4-person tent regardless, but I was wondering how the fan would perform. I attach mine to the top of the buddy’s heat guard using a small set of channel locks (which get HOT, so get em tight and leave it). In about 40 seconds, those fans start silently and start pushing that hot air out into the tent. No warm air rising above the heater. The winds were beating our tents and I could literally put my hand out and feel the hot slight breeze across the room. Get a fan that can take the high temps of the heater and the design of this one with 8 blades is awesome. Thanks for the post......it really is why I picked this fan setup. 👍. Everyone try the little channel-locks way of attaching if it’s easier for y’all......it’s works great. Much Love.........

These types of fans are designed to sit on a flat surface such as the top of a wood stove. The metallic strip on the underside "lifts" the base slightly when over-temperature is detected, allowing it to cool. With your mount, that would not be possible and may explain why a few people are having fan failures. It's a great mod to the Buddy heater but might be improved by using a flat steel base instead of the bent wires to mount it.

Burned up the first one within two days by running the heater too long on high and so I exchanged it, now I use that setting only to get the blades going and then I turn it down. I do the same thing .But i also use the filter with it. It prolongs the life of the heater

I've been running mine on a 5' hose. Found out the hard way to use a filter between the hose and the heater.

I did something similar to what you are doing and I burned it up along with the Buddy Heater handle because of the trapped heat under the fan mount. So I did a re-think, I raised another fan 4 inches higher and wa-la it works great. Plenty of hot air. Of course, I did not use the fan you are showing in your video.

Hello. What is the type of fan you did use?

@@dawnmarieleonard9137 Well, let's say it wasn't like the fan shown in the video. I wanted to move a bit more air than that little built in fan. So, I found a 6" plastic fan in my shop and installed it above the heater. I guess I put it to close to the elements and a bit later the smell of burning plastic was in my shop. The fan was plastic and I don't remember the brand name, sorry.

Did this on my Buddy heater and was amazed at how it improved it's ability to heat. I use it in my greenhouse.

The new model you show as the "alternate version" does not have the same hollow base so it looks like it would be more of a challenge to fit a mounting wire that would make attachment to the Buddy Heater possible.

If you get one with exposed wires, cover them in foil to protect them from the heat. I also only use the fan on the lo setting. It'll move a ton of air. Hi is too hot for it.

Temperature gauge said too hot directly over heat. I put mine on the back slanted down to heat my feet in ice fishing shack with only part protruding over heat. Worked well all winter.

Maybe a clay pot/candle heater behind that with scented candles? Even though it says indoors safe I would have an extra monitor to go along with it

I have the Dewalt version of this (from Mr. Heater), has ability to put 2 cylinders on and a built in fan, using the Dewalt 20v battery. Can also use with a reg. propane tank. But works fairly well considering its small size.
