There is an explanation in the movie. You basically have to hit the nerve stem in the center of the bug, but the soldiers in the movie aren't well trained enough to go for kill shots. And they face thousands of these things, so they resolve to the good old tactic of spray and pray.

In the lore, the troopers are shooting something similar to 308 AP rounds. You also have to remember those bugs would be hundreds of pounds in real life. 5.56mm or 7.62mm isn't doing squat all against them. And those two guys on the tower are probably firing twin 50.cal BMG... or bigger. Keep in mind 50 BMG was originally designed to peirce old-school tank armor or rip something smaller in half.

If you mean the second one, it was an ambush set by the bugs, yes they are that smart. And that third one was when they first landed on the planet to go to war with them, they weren't prepared for how strong and how many there were though so that's why they act a little dumb.

Вот перед этим вообще ну просто слов нету просто тупо и все чё гранатомёт ведь есть есть чё не парнули гранатомётом в него ,да просто полный дибилизм и все ,я конечно не гирой ,и не умничию ,но все же надо нетолько жить уметь с умом но и воевать тоже если НА ТО пошло а так это все просто тупо

One would say that Jesus did not know that this man was crooked and cunning, and deceived his brothers. LATER, AFTER FOLLOWING JUDAS for SOME TIME, JESUS saw him CHEATING his BROTHERS and CHEATING GOD. But, at that TIME it HAPPENED that there was ONE of them who was ENJOYING ACCEPTING a BRIBE--JUDAS. So JESUS used this PERSON to FINISH His WORK. This is the DECISION of JESUS, the DECISION of the SPIRIT of GOD HIMSELF.
