A Narrowboat kiss | Moist Tunnel & Secret Treasure [Ep 58]

Due to only having 7 days on the Bridgewater Canal I now need to get off it. I continue my cruise onwards to Dutton heading through Preston Brook Tunnel and back onto Canal River Trust waters . During this cruise I make a quick pitstop to Midland Chandlers to stock up on some supplies and take part in a little boat crash! Luckily not much damage was done and some 'experts' do say when narrowboats crash it's a contact sport - The joys of boating.

Ah that boat's name was "Preston Brook" ... is that a hired boat? Or had folks better be prepared for it if it's an owned boat. Yikes. Great tunnel! I've never smelled wild garlic, not that I know of, guess I better do that, eh? Get my boots on, go find wild garlic! Oh my gosh, the background during the video when you're talking about bits and pieces and damage ... that background is stunningly beautiful, so green, so rich. And oh, that walk was wonderful. Fiddling with your muff? In daylight? Well i never. Yeah, well whatever works best so you do not strand yourself. I suppose stealing diesel from boats was innevitable, the oiks steal diesel/petrol from where ever they can, i'd hold their hands under the prop if i ever caught them. Take care and keep that radiant smile, cheers me up every time i see it. As to the wild garlic (Ramsons), years ago we "borrowed", some, took it home in the boot of the car, which stank for weeks, but no flies,and now have it growing under all my hedges and on the margins, use it regularly for cooking/ freezing.

We've worked out what happened when you had the canal boat kiss with that other boat. The guy leaving the tunnel was already flustered because he was a bit late, his wife was probably telling him off for chancing it and then, lo and behold, he came out of the darkness into the light and was dazzled by the sight of your muff coming towards him! I'm back ,lawn all cut ,trimmed and swept up .I takes me about 3 hours to do the whole thing and I have a riding mower with a 42 inch wide cut .Oh dear what happened you had a little bump so glad no structural damage just a couple of scratches. Good job the bump didn't cause any serious damage. Watching the video again, the driver wasn't looking where he was going. If you're around the T&A canal at any time I could fit a locking fuel cap. Mine has a hinged bar over it and a lock through a loop. Tunnels are mucky and the world isn't right with me if I can't see the sky. I have worked in an underground facility on tanks in the past and had to go top side for my breaks because a concrete bunker underground can feel quite oppressive and I like watching the birds while I have a cuppa and lunch.

Bit late now but I don't mind seeing the same places again especially in Cheshire (or nearby) 🙂 Also can I just say you speak so clearly so as yet I have never once had to rewind and put the subtitles on, which is brilliant seeing a I'm a tad hard of hearing!! Lol!! Though there are a family I follow that do tend to mutter & mumble (quite a lot) and it is sometimes absolutely hilarious what the subtitles come up with!!! 😀😀 😀

Love listening to the sound of your boats engine. I find it very restful. Don't usually like engines but does remind me of an old tractor I learnt to drive on many many years ago. To me all of the places you go are new. Even when seen on other channels. Places are always changing or are so beautiful or interesting, who cares if you've seen it before, I don't, never boring! Always something new even in familiar places.
