I really hate how he said he's embarrassed to admit that he tries to communicate or "learn their language" people are so judgemental and I hate that for everyone. I know that we will never be "one of the pack" but the most important thing, to share our planet with any marvelous creature is to understand everything about them. I thank and applaud this man for every technique he uses to better understand bears, because at the end of the day the more we understand the safer we can be. 🙏🏻👏🏻❤️🐻

I’m glad Steve is trying to save the Bears from people. I hope he continues to teach others his techniques when he retires. That bear with the beautiful dark autumn color was absolutely HUGE, but they had to put him down, because he was in great pain, because he probably got hit by a vehicle. He was as big as a grizzly, and suffering. Steve is so sad, but he had no choice! ☹️

Get between a bear and his only exit (stupid games), get a quick face-to-face with a stressed bear (stupid prizes).

human stupidity has made the bear lose all respect for man and associate him with food. formerly in my country bears were shot with cartridges loaded with sea salt, in this way the bears maintained a healthy respect for humans and everything was fine.

Steve is the smarter, respectful and knowledgeable version of the "Grizzly Man" whom ending up being killed by Grizzlies along with his girlfriend, and the bears themselves being killed. You must learn about, study, and respect these animals as WILD animals, not "friends"

The critically injured bear was not going to make it and was suffering in pain. Steve did the right thing by putting him out of his misery. Trust me, he loves bears & wouldn’t have done it if he thought the bear had a chance.

Is it true there is a hunting season for killing bears ...legally? I have admit the idea shocks me. We brits of course hunted our brown bears to extinction 100s of years so on the one hand I can't really judge but on the other hand it's horrible that we made extinct in Britain sixteen large mammals so I am in a position to know all about a country missing it's large mammals...and yes it feels unhealthy and devoid of life. Also we made everything disappear 100s of years ago before any notion of wildlife conservation, before the idea that wild places could be so completely destroyed. I think in the 21st century we should all know better There's no excuse Americans. Stop killing beautiful top predators...we know what benefits they bring ... the incredibly wise decision to reintroduce wolves to Yellowstone national park was a huge success . The wolves restored a balance which involved shifting the grazers along. The result was the restoration of the overgrazed vegetation...especially the wetland tree communities bounced back with great vigour species including the Aspen, birch, poplar, alder, willows etc made a huge joyful recovery. We in Britain have a half hearted cry for rewilding... we'd even wiped out our beavers,! there are reintroductions going on for koninck, prezwalskis horses and even European bison and iconic stalks...but nobodies bold enough for bears wolves or lynx...lynx being most likely because of their secretive solitary natures. We need something as inspiring as the north AMERICAN SERENGETI PROJECT...that's genius ...how is it progressing? So enlightened are the American people on one level and yet its still legal to kill bears!!!!

Yes. Hunting bears is legal and should be. It's conservation. If there are 200 bears in an area able to support 150, you cull 50 by hunting. The State and Federal Government have wildlife biologist who make the determination as to whether a hunt is warranted for each area.
