Love this combo. I often use it on Astarion, when I have kept him a mono-class thief. Have also used it on a mostly Monk Karlach as well, and once as a bard/rogue on one of my MC's. So many fun item/class combos. Thanks for the content! :)

since most of the items are shard themed makes me want to try sneaky shadowhart trickery/thef. start from invis for surprise,fog them and go to town with advantages. Would be sort of canon-esk since sharts are meant to be invisible assassins. Altho the rest of the party would need to have some way to see thrue it too... naaaa it will be fine

I've got these items with my assassin Astarion, but they're less useful as he already gets advantage first round (and has advantage when obscured). Ring slots can be very competitive too. I think thief would get more benefit. I will use them in House of Grief though. I'm thinking the Sharrans will struggle with fog over darkness.

Yeah, if you have advantage in some other way then you don't need to use up a ring and cloak slot.

I try to not use this too much because it makes the game a bit silly. It makes stealing things right in front of people trivial. With a thief you can also guaranteed hide, which means you can infinite loop combat solo, except that the game cheats and exits turn based mode to search for you. It is interesting that it says it lasts 5 turns because that has not been my experience. The cloud tends to go away as soon as the game cheats and exits turn based mode, which is less than 5 turns. You did miss another glitch about this combo though. If each fog cloud you make is connected in a chain then it refreshes all of them as if it is one fog cloud, so you can fill the battlefield with fog. Also in addition to gear that benefits from being obscured there are two other items that make you immune to blind. The steelwat her helmet and the (very evil choice) Shar’s spear. So up to three members can benefit from the free fog. The other weird thing about gear preventing blind is it does the same for darkness. So more team mates can abuse darkness.

Ahhh, that's a cool interaction with fog cloud that I never knew about. I don't remember the last time I cast two fog clouds next to each other, let alone notice that the whole cloud refreshes. Thanks for letting us know.

The discrepancy in how long it lasts is because of a time naming mismatch. In D&D 1 Turn = 10 Rounds = 60 seconds 1 Round = 1 Action, 1 Bonus Action and Movement. (6 seconds) So the cloak's effect lasts 1 Turn(ish)... but it is a compromise. The game translates the acton economy naming improperly in an effort to keep the flow going as a *video* game, and not a *table top* game.

@@CasualVeteranGamer I agree to a point... but interestingly it works for 6 seconds real time (when not in turn based mode) but lasts 6 turns in turn based mode. The actual effect changes depending on which mode the player is in. Add to that the fact that it is even *called* "turn based mode" and "rounds" are not mentioned in BG3 I am shocked it didn't come out more messed up. They changed a *lot* of the rules to be different from actual D&D 5E in the conversion to video game. I can only repeat that I am honestly *shocked* that this is the first time they made an error like this in a game this huge!
