Right, about the 6-minute-in-talk; EA or Sony shouldn't do anything because this is a free software, if you don't sell anything - you shouldn't have any problems. The creator remade all physics as you mentioned. Same goes for the soundtrack, it's only sharing without financial benefit. Now, if Sony or EA would do something about it, then all the car, music, wheel, performance parts, and car audio part manufacturers could also "join the game" - and ask for the creators to buy the licenses of their models. PS: I would never compare the graphics from an older game to the 20-year-after-rework. Although I do like the new remake's graphics, I wouldn't necessarily say I like 'em better than the original. PPSS: I am a proud owner of 3 Z-2300's, and 2 Z-5500's, each an amazing type of earth-shaking THX certified speaker systems. From what I could hear, my almost stock sx240 sounds better at lower RPM's, than a fully tunned any other car on the new version, simply because the new version lacks lower frequencies.

You wanna know why you're having trouble seeing the difference between the original and the remade versions?? It's because these guys deliberately made sure to make certain details look low-poly. For example, look at the lane-divider lines on the road, they're not smoothly curved, they're straight lines joining at an angle to give the impression of the lines bending like in the original game.

I've not seen a comment like this yet so I'll just speak and ramble with my mind. First of all, I love the project. I hope alot of people that haven't grown up with this game get the chance to feel the same kinda magic. BUT - of course there is a but - why the fuck are we taking away any of the OG Games Charm. The remake and re-interpret the game and they make a great job at doing so BUT - theres the but again - if you slap on a widescreen hd patch on Underground 2 its a game that easily passes all vibe checks. You dont need to remake a game that still holds up. I love it, but we dont need it. Instead of making the game look cleaner for modern standards, gimme a mod where I can drive around the map (races are nice but not needed) with my friends. All of my friends, im born in 2000, that played Underground 1 and 2 dont want a remake or remaster. We just wanna play the game together. Dont hold on to the past for too long, celebrate Unbound and Heat for what they are great at and stop chasing a nostaglic feeling. BUT - ofc there is another but - if the developers of this remake enjoy doing their work and there are people that are enjoying their work please keep doing what you are doing. We are in a time where good racing games are very niche or rare, I just hope everyone is having fun. We are in a good time for racing tho, visit old games and play them, i do so every year but dont neglect good modern shit.

It would be desirable if all companies that display their logos and products in the game would provide funding. Burger King is already an example of such support. FIFA has also already integrated companies that advertise their products into the game. It should be an unobtrusive gimmick and not intrusive advertising as is already the case with KZbin ads before videos, Every single decal, electronics provider, tire manufacturer, exhaust manufacturer, wheel manufacturer, etc. I'm not always sure I fully understand the advertising policy. If someone designs something and makes other brand names look good without permission, they get sued. If a game developer says, “We'll make a deal. You pay us a lot of money for advertising space and we'll implement it,” then companies are happy to spend money on it. In any case, I would be happy to support this idea in good conscience if I see advertising and it makes the game look more realistic. But in such a way that it is only incidental and never forced.

Hey blackpanthaa i hope you're doing good. I always look forward to content from you. What is there to say about need for speed underground 2?. In my opinion it is one of those games in the nfs series that is one of the best that they made even to this day I think. I think from need for speed hot pursuit 2 or even need for speed 3 to need for speed most wanted 2005 I guess maybe stretching out to undercover although people may not agree. Was when I think correct me if I'm wrong need for speed was at its best. When ea and at the time ea black box the devs I think were at the top of their game. Nfs underground 2 is personally one of my favourite games spanning from underground 1 to most wanted. Underground 1 is also but underground 2 I like a bit more. Honestly need for speed underground 2 was the game that introduced me to the more current need for speed games at the time. The first need for speed I played ironically was nfs 2 special edition on the pc a while after it came out. Around the late 2000s. When I first saw the game watching it on the internet at the time I think that's what it was I can't 100% remember completely but I think that's what it was. It looked almost maybe real at the time it may have been on a pc which actually the pc version the street lights I don't mean to be unfairly critical have a pinkish tinge to them which makes them in my opinion almost look like real life street lights especially probably more in american or canadian city streets where I live. At the time I downloaded a demo that was free on windows pc although I wanted full version since around then. I think in the demo the default setting were the street lights and lights on the car were turned off. I think there was a setting in the demo to turn them on. I did change the setting but the game was slower and was lagging on the computer at the time which was windows xp I think I don't mean to be too critical. Actually the main demo car which I think was rachels car in the game but modified a bit differently. I think the car had a green neon underglow on it in the demo which isn't in the full game. There were only a few like maybe 2 races I think downhill drift and a circuit probably to show what the game has to offer. Also you (as the player) are locked in one of the boroughs of the city I think the beacon hill one and lots of areas are locked off even the one which takes you into the park I think near the graphics shop where there is the bridge you can take to get to one of the main highways I think and to go the city centre or downtown area in the games world. So since then when I was playing the demo I wanted the game ever since. Since you can actually go into shops ironically but all the content is locked since it's the demo. Actually I don't think you could go into the performance shop or even the graphics and body shops in the game im sorry. I dont mean to keep rambling on but I think you can go into go into the car lot and car specialties shop and that's it. The car lot doesn't or didn't even have all the cars within the game only I think I could be mistaken 3 or 4 cars which included the main car which I think is rachels like I said above. I don't mean to go onto a tangent. So since then I wanted the full game with all the cool customization features and content the game has and to experience the full real game itself. I finally got the game near the end of 2013 which by then was a bit hard to find. You could only and even now in 2025 you can only get it refurbished or used at a store that sells older games or maybe even online. So I was able to get one for the original xbox but I played it on the 360 since it was able to play it. I then learned after playing the game and since a few years ago actually that because at the time I didn't know how to progress in the games career mode so I was wondering why no events were being unlocked and at the time I was playing nfs most wanted 2005 and that game you do alot of things through menus and icons. I didn't know that you had to customize you're cars to progress in the career so. Anyway I'm just giving a bit of a background as to how I was sort of introduced to need for speed. To this video. Yeah it's good that you pointed this out where the people or person who is remaking this game that the licensed music and car company logos and any other real company names and signs and logos since it's not ea making the game. Their probably could be some copyright issues there. Maybe your right the creator of this remake should remove the songs in the doundtrack and maybe have the players put their own songs to their liking in the game if and once they come out with the finished product so they don't cause themself to get into any legal copyright problems. Like you mentioned blackpanthaa this project could be pretty cool with what their trying to do to the game to try to update it to current standards and freshen it a bit the physics and some features. Actually thanks for showing us both games and how they look different too each other. Also like you mentioned at the very very beginning of your video I couldn't seem to tell much of a difference between the original and the remake. After a little while watching them I can see there is quite a bit of a difference on how the games look. The roads when it's raining the roads look a bit sharper and more updated probably the textures so it looks more updated a bit. To be honest in my opinion I still like the original graphics of the game and how it looks. I think it has a unique look that both nfs underground games at the time had where it's set at night and has that underground street racing style that everybody knows. I think in my opinion by updating the graphics so they make the game look more like games do now might make it look "newer" but if they can keep the nostalgic feel to the game that would be great but if they don't I don't mean to be overly critical but it could take away some of the nostalgic look the game had and original game has. I know the game might look aged today compared to how current and modern arcade racing games of a similar genre look. I think nfs underground 2 just turned 20 as of last november it is getting older I guess which is kind of hard to believe. When I first was able to get the game I think it was already around 9 years old. Like you said I applaud the indie devs who are trying to update the look of the game and update different features. It's cool to see that this game still has a fanbase and people still seem to care about it enough to want to modify or update the look and features of the game. Like I said and again what you said just try to do it where the original developers ea and black box correct me if I'm wrong don't go after them and get angry that they think that these developers are abruptly taking away their original product. Happy belated new year blackpanthaa its nice to see you again. This is my view on this video. Take care and have a good day.

do it like rocket league did. rocket league was a mood for frkn unreal turnament xD make your own game out of it. I mean underground 2 is cool, but i dont think it will have a great playerbase again and replayabilty .. some people still play it but games like unbound just work because of the multiplayer. For now the just ported the base game and added physics (i respect all the work) but creating new own things will be also hard and making them good will be even more harder. And if ea buy this, it will most likely have different music, a lot of missing cars and parts and people will complain again. this needs to be handled very very smart.

As cool as it would be a remake of ug2 would be kinda bland, every company has been remaking games instead of new ideas with implements of their past

I so so hope EA just ignores this project and leaves it be not pulling a R*. Remember how R* decided to be scum of Earth and take down tens of huge GTA mods across all games,huge projects with a huge amount of work,time and effort put behind all wasted? EA doesn't have much respect from anyone anymore but i swear they'll lose that tiny amount left if they do. Also yeah i think making a way that this project has all except music in it(car manufacturers are jerks but usually they don't go out of their way to sue,music artists do) would be awsome, just make it so it has no music BUT we the community can through personal ways that no1 should know about get a hold of the music and put it in there,say we "take it from the original game" cuz you know we own that and all that? ;) Regardless EA and the car manufacturers may or may not go after this, music artists will 100% do it so having a way to distribute the project without the music and have that be added by each user in particular would probably give some cover to the team behind this, i wish them only the best and i hope this project gets completely finished without issues and no issues afterwards either.

Music artists/industry sue when you are making money out of their intellectual properties - for this one the worst that they can do is ask for their songs to be removed, I find it unlikely though.
@AsianKid992 күн бұрын
I hope it doesn't and they aren't profiting off of it so I don't think it will.

@@madhunter6420 That's exactly my point. The very worst that can happen is some artist ask for their song to be removed from the project and that is extremely unlikely. Raising a subject like that in the video is quite weird, since the project is made for profit. Unless EA....

It's really ironic, but The Need for Speed VII - Underground was actually when I stopped playing Need for Speed games for a long time. My first video game was the original Need for Speed from 1995, and I had most of the games they released after that, but Underground was so vastly different from what they were doing before that I didn't have any interest in it. It seemed like it was just attempting to follow Midnight Club instead of be Need for Speed. Anyone who was around for the first several Need for Speed releases would tell you that the Need for Speed series was originally all about racing exotic cars in exotic areas while sometimes avoiding or playing as the police. Underground was completely different. Mostly low-end cars instead of sports cars and exotics, one location instead of several, nighttime only instead of choosing time of day, no police, a city-only setting instead of a variety of locales like jungles, coasts, deserts, mountains, and more. To me and many in the "old guard", it really felt like a step backward or at least in the wrong direction at the time. So we modded our older games (especially Need for Speed IV - High Stakes) with better graphics, more tracks, newer (and older) cars, and played those until they started getting some of the old formula back in. I did play a little of Need for Speed IX - Most Wanted, but the only one I truly enjoyed after Underground was Need for Speed XVI - Hot Pursuit III. That brought back some of the exotic cars, exotic locations, and police pursuits I was so fond of in the 1990s and early 2000s.
