In my local game I developed and run, we are allowing muskets(Not the highest range, but more damage as it fires slowly), and I have one of these, for the Marksman/Grenadier class. I have found some lubricant like silicone oil or Vaseline in the barrel will increase range with a leather painting sponge. My only concern with the B3 studios, is that they are pretty high in the price range, and not the most accessible. The pistol is a bit excessive for the price.

I’ve got one of these as a gift for a nerf enthusiast. I don’t go to any LARPs where this style of gun is applicable but I’ve fired them and I like them.

Barry! How's it hanging? I think this can be used at a variety of LARPS with the right mindset- there's a fallout LARP I'm looking at, and the B3 came up in discussion over blasters. I'll bring it for an NPC weapon, pipe pistol?

Why didn't they give the thing a trigger guard? It's not like it would be difficult to make one out of the same material as the lock, then attach it to the underside of the stock with screws

Concerning the issue with rifles and melee: Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, certain eastern European nations kitted out their musketeers with a bardiche to act not only as a back up weapon in the event they are charged, but also as a standing gun rest. They would simply toss their harquebus/arquebus aside and do battle with these big flared axes/polearms. Streltsy, zolnierzy, cossacks, etc have a great aesthetic too, one that almost borders on fantasy, and I'd love to see some of that being played around with when it comes to LARP. Just food for thought.

The stock could be made of a solid EVA block, maybe with a fiberglass core. It is solid enough to be used as an archery target but it is still a soft material. The only problem would be customizing it, EVA is not the best material to be painted or texturized.
