A net-zero emissions strategy for the UK recycling and waste sector

The world is in a climate emergency and urgent efforts are needed eliminate the man-made greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that cause global warming across our economies.
The waste we all individually produce every day has a greenhouse gas emissions impact and managing this waste in the United Kingdom accounts for 8% of the UK's total emissions.
The UK Government has pledged to achieve net zero emissions across the economy by 2050 and the recycling and waste management sector has an important role to play to achieve this target.
This short film sets out the ESA's vision to reduce the recycling and waste sector's emissions to net zero by 2040 and the changes necessary to get there.

How about we put air decarbonisation plants next to recycling centers? Also I believe contamination in the waste that is thrown away is a big problem as people are not informed enough on what they should be putting in which sacks and that food and other contaminants can make recyclable materials non recyclables. Also blatant violations of waste disposal is still a major issue, it needs to be sorted out with the councils and engaged correctly with the public. This is such a major issue and people are not informed enough of the impact its having not to mention the reason why net zero is being pushed, we are in environmental crisis and it will only be realised when it's to late.
